Water connection

Connection to a water line
WARNING
Return flow of dirty water into the drinking water
network
Health risk
Observe the regulations of your water supply company.
According to applicable regulations, the device must
never be used with the drinking water network without a
system separator. Use a system separator from
KÄRCHER or a system separator as per EN 12729
Type BA. Water that has flowed through a system sep-
arator is classified as undrinkable. Always connect the
system separator to the water supply and never directly
to the water connection on the device.
1. Check the supply pressure, supply temperature and
supply volume of the water supply (see chapter
Technical data).
2. Connect the system separator to the water connec-
tion of the device using a water supply hose (for the
requirements placed on the water supply hose see
chapter Technical data).
3. Open the water inlet.

Venting the device
ATTENTION
Risk of damage
Damage due to cavitation can occur if air is present in
the high-pressure pump during operation.
Do not open the high-pressure gun during the venting
process.
1. Connect the high-pressure hose and high-pressure
gun.
2. Ensure the required minimum water supply volume
(see "Technical data").
Without advance pressure pump
1. Open the water inlet.
On devices with a dump gun, water now flows out of
the bypass pipe.
2. Open the venting screw at the filter until all air has
escaped from the filter.
3. Close the venting screw.
4. Turn the power switch to 1/ON.
5. Pull the breather hose away from the device. Water
escapes here during the venting process.
6. Open the venting lever until an even flow of water
escapes from the breather hose, but for a minimum
of 90 seconds.
7. Close the venting lever.
Without advance pressure pump
1. Open the water inlet.
2. Unscrew the venting screw at the advance pressure
pump.
3. Fill the advance pressure pump with water (approx-
imately 200 ml).
4. Screw in and tighten the venting screw.
5. Unscrew the venting screw at the filter.
6. Fill the water filter with water.
7. Screw in and tighten the venting screw when all air
has escaped from the filter.
8. Pull the breather hose away from the device. Water
escapes here during the venting process.
9. Open the venting lever.
10. Turn the power switch to 1/ON.
On devices with a dump gun, water now flows out of
the bypass pipe.
11. Leave the venting lever open until an even flow of
water escapes from the breather hose, but for a min-
imum of 90 seconds.
12. Close the venting lever.
The working pressure is shown on the pressure gauge.
The device is equipped with an F19 flat jet nozzle, with
a spray angle of 20° for large soiled areas.
1. Always initially direct the high-pressure jet at the ob-
ject to be cleaned from a distance to avoid damage
due to excessive pressure.
Switching on the device
1. Open the water inlet.
2. Plug the mains plug into the socket.
3. Vent the device (see chapter "Venting the device").
4. Turn the power switch to 1/ON.
5. Check the rotation direction of the high-pressure
pump: The electric motor fan wheel must turn in a
clockwise direction.
6. Press the safety latch of the high-pressure gun
downward.
7. Pull the trigger.
