8. Clean clamping surfaces of outer
blade flange, saw blade and inner
blade flange.

Danger!
Do not use cleaning agents
(e.g. to remove resin residue) that
could corrode the light metal compo-
nents of the saw; the stability of the
saw would be adversely affected.
9. Put on a fresh saw blade (observe
direction of rotation!).

Danger!
Use only suitable saw blades
(see "Technical specifications") –
when using unsuitable or damaged
blades parts could be explosive-like
hurled from it by centrifugal force. Do
not use:
saw blades made of high speed
steel (HSS);
saw blades with visible damage;
cut-off wheel blades.

Danger!
Mount saw blade using only gen-
uine parts.
Do not use loose-fitting reducing
rings; the saw blade could work
loose.
Saw blades have to be mounted
in such way that they do not wob-
ble or run out of balance and can
not work loose during operation.
10. Put inner blade flange, saw blade
and outer blade flange onto the saw
spindle, so that the dog pin of the
saw spindle engages
groove.
11. Screw in arbor bolt
thread!) and tighten fingertight
only.

Danger!
Do not extend arbor bolt tighten-
ing wrench.
Do not tighten arbor bolt by hit-
ting the wrench.
After tightening the arbor bolt, do
not forget to remove the open-
ended spanner!
12. Install cover plate on the chip case:

Slide cover plate (69) upwards
over the side guide bars to under
the swivel flap (70).
Pull cover plate down inside the
side guide bars – it must catch
hold behind the suction port.
Tighten fastening screws (71)
again.
13. Crank saw blade up.
14. Install the blade guard

Riving knife setting

A
Danger:
The riving knife is one of the
safety devices and has to be correctly
installed for a safe operation:
The distance between the saw
blade and the riving knife must
not be more than 5 mm.
For parting cuts the riving knife
must project beyond the saw
blade (upper position).

1. Remove blade guard.
2. Lower saw blade fully.
3. Remove cover plate from chipcase
below the rotating table (see "Saw
blade change").
4. Riving knife adjustment.
Vertical alignment:
Loosen screws (72) and (74)
approx. one turn and slide the riv-
ing knife in the upper or lower
position, as required.
Upper position – for parting cuts.
Lower position – for set-in work.
Tighten screws (72) and (74).
Horizontal alignment:
Loosen screw (73) (left-handed
thread!) and adjust riving knife
position.
Tighten screw (73).
5. Replace cover plate on chip case
and fasten with screws.
6. Raise saw blade fully.
7. Attach blade guard.
9.3 Universal fence adjust-
ment
1. Loosen ratchet lock lever (75) and
let universal fence engage in neutral
(0°) position.

2. Loosen the three cross-recessed
head screws and remove the gradu-
ated arc scale.
