Ensure that the cables are protected against being sheared, kinked or twisted. If neces-
sary use cable ducts.
   
Observe the connection assignment, the permitted drive voltage (see type label), the
minimum and maximum power specifi cations (see technical data) and the mounting and
installation instructions, and follow them exactly.
ATTENTION Each time the limit switch or electronic safety function is activated, the rack
and pinion moves roughly 2 mm in the opposite direction.
This is normal and serves to relieve the load on the mechanical elements
and compress the gaskets by the correct dimension.
This increases the service life of the mechanical system.

Operation

9.1 Limit switch when opening
The limit switch operates automatically when opening, it is an electronic type and is non-pro-
grammable.
The power consumption of the drive stops the drive when the window reaches its maximum
opening, or if the power consumption is more than 10% above the nominal value. In this case
the drive exerts a push force that is greater than 550 N at maximum load.
9.2 Limit switch when closing
The limit switch operates automatically when closing, it is an electronic type and is non-pro-
grammable.
The power consumption of the drive stops the drive when the window reaches its maximum
closing position, or if the power consumption is more than 10% above the nominal value. In this
case the drive exerts a push force that is greater than 550 N at maximum load.

9.3 Adjusting the travel in individual cases as necessary

The travel set at the factory can be adjusted in order to set the exit length of the shaft at will
according to individual requirements. This modifi cation must be carried out "on the workbench"
using suitable equipment by persons with the requisite technical expertise who can perform
each task with a high degree of care and safety.
The following work steps are involved:
 Remove the four screws that hold the front head section of the ELTRAL Z45 drive in place.
 Take the head section including the shaft out of the drive body.
 Remove the two screws that hold the two parts of the momentary-contact limit switch
block in place.
 Position the rubber buffer and the block in the required location.
 Retighten the two screws to fasten the block once again.
 Mount entire assembly on the drive body once again.
 Fasten the four screws on the front head section and test the new travel setting.
