3. PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKS

3.1. Necessary clearance

Distance C must be greater than or equal to 450 mm.
Length, L, of the gate leaves must be between 800 mm and 2,500 mm.

3.2. Pillar strengthening bracket

If one of the mounting holes on the motor/pillar mounting plate is not lo-
cated against anything or is close to the corner of the pillar, a strengthen-
ing bracket (not supplied) must be added.

If the gate opening angle is greater than 90° and the width of the
pillar is less than 40 cm, a strengthening bracket must be used.

3.3. Gate leaf reinforcement

If the gate leaves have no reinforcements, fit some metal reinforcement
plates (e.g.: 40x40 mm and 4 mm thick) to fasten the brackets to the gate
leaves.

3.4. Electric lock

For a large gate leaf format (larger than 2 m) or in a windy area, Somfy
recommends installing an electric lock.
