m Changing and grinding the knife
m Await complete standstill of cutter. Before working
on cutter, remove mains plug!
The reversible steel blade can be used on both sides
and can be replaced quickly and easily.
Caution when working: There is a danger to fingers
and hands.
It is extremly important to use only well sharpened
knives.
So please note:
A blunt knife impairs cutting performance and makes
work difficult. A sure sign of a blunt knife is a reduc-
tion in automatic pull. The motor heats up, overload
protection device trips.
Replacing the counter-blade
Remove it in the following order:

Unscrew the chute 31 from the housing 23.
Replace counter-blade (74).
Re-assemble the shredder.

• Unscrew the safety screw (1) from the upper part of
the housing and fold the upper part of the housing
with the filling chute forwards.

With either a small screwdriver or a nail, remove deb-
ris from the inner hexagon socket of the blade faste-
ning screw. The T-handle pin-key has to completely
reach into the inner hexagon socket in order to un-
screw the screw. The screws are tightly screwed in.
Blade removal
The blade, as well as the blade surface area of the
cutting disc, must be cleaned of hardened debris
material. Upon reinstallation, the blade disc must be
mounted exactly as before.

In resharpening the blade, pay close attention to
maintaining an even blade-diameter so as to avoid an
imbalanced blade.
The new blade has a width of 30 mm. In resharpening
the blade, a maximum of only 4 mm may be removed
from each cutting edge.

In detail A a close up of the dulled cutting edge of the
blade is shown. In resharpening the blade, the cutting
edge has to at least be sharpened until the cutting
edge is angular.
If a blade has been sharpened over time down to a
width of 22 mm, then a new blade has to be installed.

In mounting the blade, lubricate the flat head screws
and tighten well. Recommended torque 6 Nm.

• In exchanging the infeed worm, the blade disc does
not need to be removed.
• With either a small screwdriver or a nail, remove
debris from the inner hexagonsocket of the fillister
head and unscrew the fillister head.
• Unscrew the disc hub (1) underneath the cutting
blade. Unscrew 4 M6x25 cylindrical screws.
Withdraw the intake auger (2) from the cutter bla-
de and fit the new intake auger with the disc hub.
Tighten all screws firmly!
• Re-fit the cutter blade with
Cylindrical screws
Spring washers
Thoroughly tighten screws
Recommended torque 23 Nm
• Fold up the upper part of the housing and lock in
accordance with the instructions.
Screw the safety screws all the way back in
again. All protective and safety equipment
must be re-fitted after repair or maintenance
is completed.

m Motor and switch
Fitting, repair and maintenance work on the electric
unit can only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
When returning the motor, always send the entire mo-
tor apparatus with the switch.
The following details are required to allow correct and
fast processing of a spare parts order:
1. Machine type
2. Machine number
3. Description, order number for spare part.
4. When ordering spare parts for electric equipment,
the date shown on the name-plate of motor and
switch must be quoted.
5. Quantity of the required spare parts
6. Exact details of address and type of dispatch.
