CHARGING
Battery and battery charger are not included with this
product.
For rechargeable batteries, please charge in according to
the handling instructions of the charger which you are using.

*1 WARNING
○ Check to make sure the rod slides smoothly when
operated. Clean the sliding area on the rod if it doesn't
slide smoothly.
*2 WARNING
○ When loading a nail in the rod, hold the nail shaft instead
of the tip.
○ When loading a nail in the rod, make sure it does not
press the tip of the driver unit.
○ When loading a nail in the rod, do not place your fi ngers
or hands below the tip of a nail.
*3 WARNING
○ When shooting a nail holding it with fi ngers, place the
nail tip at a target fi rst, and then insert the rod to the nail
head.
*4 WARNING
○ When shooting a nail, make sure the tip of the nail is in
the hole of the metal joint.
*5 CAUTION
○ When using the hook, hang up the power tool fi rmly not
to drop accidentally.
If the power tool is dropped, it may lead to an accident.
○ Make sure the battery removed when using the hook.
○ Install securely the hook. Unless the hook is securely
installed, it may cause an injury while using.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

CAUTION
Be sure to remove battery from the Auto Hammer before
maintenance and inspection.
WARNING
○ Disconnect battery and remove nail from Auto Hammer
when:
1) doing maintenance and inspection; and
2) clearing a jam.
○ Without connecting the battery, check if the rod moves
steadily by pressing the rod tip against a material such
as of wood.
1. Clearing a jam (Fig. 11)
1 Remove battery from the Auto Hammer.
2 Remove the jammed nail with a pair of pliers.
3 In case of frequent jam, contact a HiKOKI authorized
service center.
2. Rod inspection (Fig. 6)
Periodically clean and lubricate the sliding part of the rod
and socket.
Check if the rod moves smoothly by pressing the Auto
Hammer against a material such as of wood.
When iron powders or the like adheres to the magnetized
area within the rod, the power to magnetically hold a nail
may be reduced. Wipe the area clean with a cloth or
adhesive tape sometimes.
Also, clean the iron powder on the magnet outside the
rod with cloth or adhesive tape sometimes.

It makes the rod operation smooth.
3. Inspecting the mounting screws

Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that

they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could

result in serious hazard.
4. Maintenance of the motor

The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the power
tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
3
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
5. Cleaning on the outside

When the power tool is stained, wipe with a soft dry cloth
or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use chloric
4
solvents, gasoline or paint thinner, for they melt plastics.
6. Storage

Store the power tool in a place in which the temperature

is less than 40°C and out of reach of children.
