2.2 Field of application
The 12K19, 12K5 and 12K20 Ottobock Elbow Set-Ups can be used for all
cosmetic, body-powered and myoelectric arm prostheses.
2.3 Safety instructions
Please make your patients aware of the following safety instructions:
CAUTION
Mechanical overload
Injuries due to breakage of load-bearing components, impaired functio-
nality due to mechanical damage
Check the product for damage prior to each use.

Do not use the product if its functionality has been impaired.

Take any necessary measures (e.g. repair, replacement, inspection

by the manufacturer's customer service, etc.).
The Ottobock prosthetic components described in these instructions for use
have been developed for activities of daily living and must not be used for
unusual activities such as extreme sports (free climbing, paragliding, etc.).
Careful handling of the prosthesis and its components not only increases
their service life but, above all, ensures the patient's safety!
Should prosthetic components be subjected to unusual stresses (such
as a fall), immediately contact your prosthetist and have the components
inspected for any damage. If necessary, the responsible prosthetist will
pass the prosthesis on to the Ottobock Service.
2.4 Environmental conditions
CAUTION
Contact with cold, heat, embers or fire
Injuries (e.g. burns) and damage to the product due to unallowable en-
vironmental conditions
Keep the product away from open flames, embers and other sour-

ces of heat.
Do not expose the product to unallowable environmental conditions
