b) exterior unit Inserting the batteries

Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the exterior unit. To do this you will need a
suitable screwdriver.

Insert 2 type mignon/AA batteries with correct polarity into the battery compartment. Pay
attention to correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-, see imprint in battery compart-
ment and on batteries).
For the use of rechargeable batteries, please note chapter 6.

Between the batteries there is a countersunk button visible which is labelled "TX". It can
be carefully actuated with, e.g. a toothpick (only press it briefly), so that the exterior unit
instantly sends a data packet to the base station.
Otherwise simply wait until the exterior unit independently starts transmitting.

The base station may acknowledge the first receipt with a short tone signal.

Make sure that the sealing rubber is correctly positioned in its guide slot. Occasionally it can
happen that it is pulled out by opening the battery compartment lid.

Replace the battery compartment lid and screw it back on. Do not use force.
c) reception unit: free standing or wall installation
The reception unit can be set up free standing via the base stand (J) included in delivery on an
even, robust and sufficiently large surface.
The base station may be delivered with the base stand already inserted. If not, the
base stand is simply inserted from the bottom into the reception unit. Please observe
the correct position.
The reception unit can be suspended from a nail or screw on a vertical wall. There is a corres-
ponding opening on the back (F).
To remove the base stand (J) it is to be slid off towards the bottom.
Doing this, don't excert any force, don't bend the base stand, but simply pull it out
directly towards the bottom.
Before you knock a nail into the wall or fasten a screw into it (and drill a hole for the
dowel), make sure that there are no cables, power, gas or water lines.
