13. maInTenanCe and CleanInG
a) Base station
Apart from a possibly necessary change of battery, the base station is maintenance free, never

take it apart.
In the case of any dirt, clean the base station with a clean, dry cloth. Dust can be removed using
a soft clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Don't press too much onto the LC display this could damage it or could cause scratch
marks.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents, this can damage the plastic housing (discolou-
ring).
b) exterior unit
The exterior unit should be regularly controlled and cleaned.
Leaves may block the opening of the rainwater catchment funnel, dust/dirt also coll-
ects in the counter rocker, this affects the accuracy.
Take the top lid/catchment funnel off the exterior unit by turning it clockwise. Clean the lid/
catchment funnel with water and a soft, clean cloth.
The counter rocker on the inside can be cleaned with a clean brush and a soft cloth.
Be very careful, do not excert any force, this damages the rocking mechanism.
Check the drainage openings and clean them.
Put the lid onto the exterior unit and lock it by turning it anticlockwise.
