Cutting the pipe

Warning! PIPECUT TURBO 250/400 generates a visible laser beam from the front of
!
the housing, directed at the material to cut (class 2 laser according to EN 60825-1).
When handling the unit, keep away from the laser. Respect the danger, warning and
caution signs of the saw.
Take the clamp firmly in your hand right and place your left foot on the pipe, approximately 20" or
400 mm from the saw. Turn the saw until it is tilted slightly forward.
To start up the motor, first release the lever locking the switch by pushing it forward with your finger
(Figure E/1). Now you can press the switch all the way (Figure E/2), and the motor will start.
Before starting to cut, wait until the disc reaches maximum speed. Hold the switch down the whole
time you are cutting. Start cutting by pressing the handle of the saw down until the disc penetrates
the wall of the pipe (Figure E) (the pipes must not rotate in the clamp now) and the motor remains
locked in the cutting position (Click!!!). Now you can start to cut safely around the pipe.
3.7

Cut around the pipe

Start cutting by bringing the saw forward (Figure F1) and supporting the pipe with your left foot.
After doing this, release the pipe (take your left foot off the pipe) and bring the saw backward at
the same time rotating the pipe backward (Figure F2).
Advance with the saw and keep doing so for approximately 1/6 of the pipe perimeter. Repeat this
step until the pipe has been cut (Figure G).
Set the cutting speed to an appropriate value according to the material and the thickness of the
pipe wall. Cutting with excessive speed could damage the disc, overload the saw and cause the
pipes to be cut unevenly.
Once the pipe has been cut, release the ON/OFF switch. The cutting disc will stop. Push the
unlock button forward (Figure G/1). Now lift the motor to the start-up position (Figure G/2).
Remove the saw from the pipe by loosening the clamp (Figure G/3). Ensure that the lower disc
guard descends to the safety position.
If there are problems while cutting, or the saw emits unusual sounds or vibrations, stop cutting before
finishing cutting the pipe, release the disc by pushing the unlock button forward and then lift the saw
motor until it is in the upper position. Once the problem has been solved, you can continue cutting.
Never start up the motor when it is locked in the cutting position or when the teeth of the disc are
caught in the pipe you are cutting.

Protection against overloading and rotational speed regulator

The saw is equipped with a device to protect against overloads. When the disc is worn or the cutting speed is
too high, the overload protection against cuts off the power automatically. In case of overload:
– Release the ON/OFF switch.
– Push the unlock button forward to earth the device.
– Lift the motor up to the start-up position. To reestablish it, press the main switch.

Cutting alignment and adjustment wheel

The cut is influenced by many factors, for example the size of the pipe, the material, the wall
thickness, the quality of the pipe surface, the roundness, the weld bead, the condition of the cutting
disc, the power supply speed, the experience of the operator, etc.
For this reason, the result can vary and the cut may veer to the left or right (erroneous alignment
of the start or end point of the cut) (Figure H). The saw clamp has an adjustable wheel (Figure
A/8) that can be used to improve the quality of the cut and to correct alignment errors. The setting
