13. Speed Controller "GUEC GE-610"

Before taking the speed controller into operating, read the notes on operation and programming carefully.

Performance Characteristics

• High-performance micro-processor for max. motor compatibility and highest efficiency
• Max. speed 210,000 rpm (for 2-pin motors), 70,000 rpm (6-pin), 35,000 rpm (12-pin)
• 3 start modes: Normal, soft, very soft for direct or gear drives
• Configurable throttle range for all transmitters on the market
• Straight-lined and quick throttle acceptance
• Microprocessor with separate voltage controller for best interference suppression
• Protective switching for undervoltage, overheating and RC signal loss
• Switchable BEC-voltage of 5.25 and 6 V
• Active speed controller mode for model helicopter (governor mode)

Programmable Settings

Attention, important!
Before taking the speed controller into operation, you always have to programme the controller individually to the
helicopter or plane model used by you.
1.
Braking: Off / soft / hard / very hard (standard setting: off)
2.
Battery type: Lithium (LiIo- or LiPo-batteries) / NiMH-batteries (standard setting: Lithium)
3.
Cut-off mode: Soft = step-by-step decrease of the output performance / hard = immediate switch-off of the output
performance (default setting: soft)
4.
Cut-off switching threshold: Low / medium / high (default settings: medium)
For Lithium batteries, the values correspond to 2.85 V / 3.15 V / 3.30 V per cell.
For NiMH batteries, the values correspond to 50% / 62.5% / 75% of the starting voltage.

Start mode: Normal / soft / very soft (default setting: very soft)
The setting "normal" is recommended for flight models with direct drive.
The settings "soft" with 3 s start-up time and "very soft" with approx. 8 s start-up time are mainly suitable for flight
models with gear motors and helicopter models.
If the motor is switched off after starting and full throttle is activated again within 3 seconds, the controller briefly
switches from "soft" or "very soft" to "normal" to prevent danger of damage to the model from the delayed throttle
acceptance.

Timing: 0° / 3.75° / 7.5 / 11.25° / 15° / 18.75° / 22.5° / 26.25° (default setting: 15°)
Usually, low timing values are sufficient for most motors. Since there is a great many different motors on the market,
you should determine the best timing value for your own. Usually, slightly higher timing values will also provide slightly
more power; at the same time, however, it increases power consumption and thermal load of the motor, controller and
battery.
7.
Governor mode: off / low / high (default setting: off)
If the governor mode is active, the controller tries to keep the motor speed constant at all times in spite of different
loads.
In the setting "low", the speed area of a 2-pin motor is 10,000 to 45,000 rpm. In the setting "high", the speed area of
a 2-pin motor is 46,000 to 200,000 rpm.
To prevent exceeding of the maximum blade tip speed, you should always measure the rotor head speed. The governor
mode is only active if the throttle lever position exceeds 60%.
