NOTES ON SAFE USE
To minimise the risk of fire in the microwave: Do not leave
the microwaveunattended when heating foods in plastic or
paper containers as the materials could ignite
When heating drinks in the microwave, bubbling may be
delayed when the drink boils. Therefore, be careful when
handling the container. To avoid sudden bubbling up:
If possible, place a glass rod in the fluid for as long as it
is being heated.
To avoid an unexpected bubbling up, leave the liquid to
stand in the microwave oven for about 20 seconds after
heating.
Puncture the skins of potatoes, sausages or similar. Other-
wise, they could explode.
Be careful when heating liquids. Use only open containers,
so that any air bubbles produced can escape.
If the appliance starts to give off smoke, switch it off immedi-
ately or remove the plug from the mains and keep the door
closed to smother any flames that might otherwise escape.
Eggs in their shells and hard-boiled eggs should not be heat-
ed in the microwave oven as they could explode, even after
completion of the heating process.
Food with thick skins, such as potatoes, whole pumpkins,
apples and chestnuts, must be pricked before cooking.
Do not move the microwave oven when it is in use.
