6. Initial operation
Setting the antiskating compensation
1. Set the antiskating regulator (23) to the needle resting weight value specified for that pick-up system. For a needle
pressure of, e.g., 2g you have to set the antiskating control (23) to "2".
2. The recommended setting for the supplied system is "3".
Setting the pick-up arm lifting height
1. To set the height of the pick-up arm lift (20) rotate the the pick-up lift adjusting screw (19) using a fitting screwdriver.
2. The pick-up arm lifting lever (22) must be in the the "Open-Position" for setting.
3. Make sure that the pick-arm lift (20) has not been set too high, so that the pick-up arm (18) sits on the pick-up arm rest
(21).
4. The contact needle, with the pick-up lift (20) in the open position should be approximately 10-15mm above the face of
the record.
Setting the overhang
The overhang is the distance between the pick-up needle and the the turntable axis (7).
This overhang has already been factory set. If you should come to changing to a different pick-up system, you can set the
overhang as follows:
1. The overhang of the pick-up arm (18) should be set to 16mm for optimal playback.
2. To achieve this loosen both of the screws on the headshell on the pick-up system (16) and slide the pick-up system into
the correct position.
3. Always make sure that while you are making these settings that the pick-up system (16) remains attached to the system
carrier in a parallel position.
4. Tighten both of the screws again.
