6. Initial operation

F) Operation

1. Check through all connections and adjustments again.
2. Open the lid.
3. Put a record on the turntable (6) Place a single-adaptor (puck) on the turntable axis (7) if needed to play single
records.
4. Turn the POWER switch (1) to the ON position.
5. Set the speed regulator (13) to a middle setting. The LED display will be green at this setting.
6. Use the buttons to select the right speed (3) to the settings given on the record player (33 1/3, 45 or 78 rpm). The
selected speed is then indicated by the LED display. To set to 78 rpm both buttons must be pressed.
7. Using the DIRECTION button (9) select the desired rotating direction of the record player (R = reverse, F = forwards).
8. Switch the mixing desk or amplifier on. Select the appropriate input to which the record player is connected.
9. Operate the START/STOP button (2) or press Start/Stop on the remote control (mixing desk). The turntable (6) will be
begin to rotate.
10. Disengage the support clip on the pick-up arm rest (21).
11. Set the pick-up lift lever (22) to the "OPEN" position and swing the pick-up arm (18) from the pick-up arm rest (21) and
over the record. Set the pick-up lift lever (22) to the "OPEN" position and swing the pick-up arm (18) from the pick-up
arm rest (21) and over the record.
12. If operating in bad light press the locking button for the needle-light (15). The needle light (15) will move into position and
switch itself on. To switch it off simply press on the needle light (15) and gently push it into position.
13. Align the pick-up arm (18) over the desired groove position on the record.
14. Lower the head using the pick-up lift (20) by swinging the lever forwards. The pickup arm (18) will lower itself gently and
playback of the record will begin.
15. Now set the volume on the amplifier to the desired level.
16. If playback should be interrupted, do not touch the pick-up arm (18) but simply press the the START/STOP button (2).
17. To stop the playback or if the end of the record has been reached lift the pick-up arm (18) from the record, by levering
the pick-up arm lift (20) (Open-Position) and then place the pick-up arm (18) back onto the pick-up arm rest (21). Lower
the pickup arm (18) so that it can rest in a stabile position on the pick-up arm rest (21).
18. Operate the START/STOP button (2) or press Start/Stop on the remote control (mixing desk). The record player is then
turned off.
19. When yon have finished operation first switch the amplifier off and then the record player using the POWER button (1).
Adjusting the playing pitch speed
1. The playing pitch speed can be adjusted using the speed regulator (13) resulting in a higher or lower tone effect.
2. The PITCH button (4) can be used to set the range of the speed regulator (13) (+/-10% or +/-20%).
3. Sliding the speed regulator (13) upwards reduces the playing speed, sliding it downwards increases the playing speed.
4. If the original speed of the record player has not been altered the LED display on the speed regulator is green, if the
speed has been altered then it is red.
5. If the LED display remains green even after the regulator has been adjusted then press the QUARZ button (14) (this
registers the speed regulation).
6. This allows you, by pressing the QUARZ button (14) to resume the original record speeds, without having to change the
setting on the speed regulator (13).
When the pick-up arm is not in use (18) always return it to the pick-up arm rest (21) with the clip firmly in place, to
prevent any unnecessary damage.
Please make sure before locking the pick-up (18) into position that the pick-up lift (20) is fully lowered.
To protect this appliance from dust close the lid carefully during playback or after use.
The single adaptor puck when not in use should be returned to the single puck holder (8).
A spare pick-up system together with the system carrier can be clipped into the spare pick-up system holder (11).
Thus storing it in a safe place where it can be instantly installed when needed.
