5. Connection
If you have no specialised knowledge of connecting up computer
peripherals, please arrange for a SPECIALIST or a specialist
repairer to connect the switch box!
All connected devices will be damaged by connecting the switch
box incorrectly.
• Switch off all the PCs that are to be connected to the switch box. Isolate them from
the mains supply and withdraw the power plug.
Unplug the plug-in power supply of the switch box from the mains socket outlet.
• Plug a PS/2 keyboard and a PS/2 mouse into the relevant sockets on the front
panel of the switch box.
• Connect your monitor's VGA cable to the corresponding ("Monitor") socket at the
rear of the switch box.
• Use a suitable connecting cable to connect your PCs to the ports at the rear of the
switch box. Use a high-quality double shielded VGA cable to ensure good picture
quality.
• Connect the cable of the supplied plug-in power supply unit to the socket at the
rear of the switch box.
Plug the plug-in power supply unit into a proper mains socket outlet (230 V/50 Hz).
• Switch on the VGA monitor and then switch on all the PCs one after the other.
While the PCs are booting, avoid pressing the switchover buttons,
keyboard keys or mouse buttons. Pressing them may cause problems,
e.g. the boot process may be terminated or the keyboard or mouse
may not be recognised correctly.
Even a brief switchover operation can disrupt the booting process
despite the fact that the switch box simulates a keyboard, mouse and
monitor on all the PCs that are not active.
6. Operation
a) Switchover by pressing a button on the switch box
Press the button assigned to the relevant port in order to switch to the connected
PC.

Raccorder les connecteurs pour le clavier PS/2, la souris PS/2 et le moniteur VGA
du port considéré à l'un des PC. Les deux douilles PS/2 de chaque port sont repé-
rées respectivement par un petit symbole représentant un clavier ou une souris.
La qualité de l'image sur le moniteur VGA raccordé dépend de la qua-
lité du câble de liaison VGA utilisé. Il est impératif d'utiliser un câble à
double blindage, car seul ce type de câble permet de garantir une ima-
ge sans ombres, même pour des résolutions élevées (à partir de
1024 x 768 avec une fréquence de rafraîchissement de 70 Hz).
• Touche Reset
Si le sélecteur de PC ne réagit pas, actionner la touche Reset.
