Set Up and Installation
a) Radio clock
• The radio wall cock may be used only in dry, enclosed areas indoors.
• Do not place the radio clock directly next to electronic devices, metal parts or cables, as this worsens the
reception. The same is true for metalised insulation glass windows, reinforced concrete constructions,
coated special wall-papers or in basement rooms.
• The opening (6) can be used to mount the radio clock e.g., on a nail, a bolt or a hook on a vertical wall.
• The base stand (10) on the rear side can be used to set the radio clock on a stable, level surface. Fold the
base in the outward direction, so that it is at an angle of approx. 80° to the rear side. Then insert a part of
it into the radio clock, until it clicks into place.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to prevent scratches or pressure points.
b) Outdoor sensor
• Place the outdoor sensor e.g. under a roof projection or a car port. You should protect the outdoor sensor
from direct precipitation or direct sunlight; as otherwise the air temperature cannot be measured. Never
use the outside sensor in or under water; this will damage it!
• The provided wall bracket can be mounted with two suitable screws (and if necessary, dowels). Pay atten-
tion when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables and pipes are damaged. Then insert the outdoor
sensor into the wall bracket from the top.
Setting the Date and Time Manually
Manual adjustment of time and date is required only under poor reception conditions. The radio
clock makes an attempt to receive the DCF signal at 01:00 hours in the night, and if the reception
is successful, it is adjusted automatically.
• Hold down the "SET" button (1) for about 2 seconds until the year display fl ashes.
• Set the year by pressing "+" (2) or "-" (4) button.
If the respective key is pressed for a longer period of time, quick adjustment is performed. This
also applies to setting the month/date and the time.
• Briefl y press the "SET" button (1), then Month and Date fl ash. Change this using the "+" (2) or "-" (4) button.
The day of the week is calculated automatically.
• Briefl y press the "SET" button (1), then the time fl ashes. Set this using the "+" (2) or "-" (4) key.
• Briefl y press the "SET" button (1), then "24H" or "12H" fl ashes. With the buttons "+" (2) or. "-" (4), you can
switch between the 24h and 12h modes of displaying the time.
In 12 hr mode, "AM" (fi rst half of day) or "PM" (second half of day) is displayed at the left of the
time.
• Press the "SET" button (1) briefl y; all the settings are saved and the Settings mode is exited (alternatively,
do not press any key for a few minutes).
Starting search for DCF signal manually
Briefl y press the "WAVE" button (8). The symbol (A) for radio reception starts to fl ash. This process lasts
approx. 5 minutes. During this time, do not move the radio clock or press any buttons.
As the automatic search for the DCF signal takes place at 01:00 hours, but the switch between
summer/winter time only at 02:00 hours, a delayed display is possible. If this happens, please
start a manual search as well.
Starting search for radio signal of the outdoor sensor manually
Briefl y press the "RE-SYNC" button (7). The symbol (C) for radio reception starts to fl ash. Finally, press the
„RESET" (16) button on the outdoor sensor.
Wait for approx. 1 minute; the outdoor temperature should appear in the display of the radio clock within
this time.
If this is not the case, reduce the distance between the outdoor sensor and the radio clock or change the
installation location. The batteries of the outdoor sensor could be weak; replace them if necessary.
Switching between temperature units °C/°F
To switch between the temperature units "°C" (degree Celsius) and "°F" (degree Fahrenheit), press the
"°C/°F" button on the radio clock (3) or on the outdoor sensor (14).

Maintenance and Cleaning

The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for inserting/replacing the
batteries as described in these operating instructions).
To clean the exterior of the radio clock, a dry, soft and clean cloth is suffi cient.
Do not press too hard on the display; this may cause scratches, malfunction or breakage of the display.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Use a slightly damp, soft cloth to remove dirt from the outdoor sensor.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these could
damage (discolouring) to the housing or even impair operation.
Transmission range
The range of the radio signal transmission between outdoor sensor and radio clock under optimum condi-
tions is up to 30 m. This range specifi cation however is the so-called "free-fi eld range".
However, this ideal arrangement (e.g., with outdoor sensor and radio clock on a smooth, level fi eld without
trees, houses etc.) never exists in practice.
Usually, the radio clock is placed inside a house and the outdoor sensor is placed e.g. under a carport or
sideways at a window.
Due to the different infl uences on the radio transmission, no specifi c range can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house. If the radio clock does not re-
ceive any data from the outdoor sensor (despite new batteries), reduce the distance between the radio clock
and the outdoor sensor and change the installation location.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/vapour-deposited insulating glass panes, aluminium windows
• Vehicles
• Trees, bushes, earth, rocks
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interference, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled
headphones, radio-controlled speakers, baby monitors etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power supply units, computers
• Proximity to mains sockets, network cables
• Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
Declaration of Conformity (DOC)
We, Conrad Electronic, Klaus-Conrad-Straße 1, D-92240 Hirschau, hereby declare that this product con-
forms to the fundamental requirements and the other relevant regulations of the directive 1999/5/EC.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
Remove any inserted battery/rechargeable batteries and dispose of them separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As end user, you are legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries.
Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are:
Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (marked on batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. under
the rubbish bin symbol shown to the left).
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your community's collection
point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
