surfaces of the clamp jaws must be clean and properly closed.
If zero calibration cannot be carried out perfectly, proceed as fol-
lows:
• After several DC current measurements have been carried out,
residual magnetism can be present in the clamp. This can be
neutralised by changing the direction of the current to be
measured by reversing the orientation of the current clamp.
• Snap the clamp open and closed several times one after the
other. Then try setting zero once again.
Attention!
Do not measure any currents in circuits in which voltages grea-
ter than 600 V DC or 480 V AC rms can occur, otherwise life can
be endangered as a result. Never measure currents over 600 A.

7. Maintenance and calibration

To guarantee the accuracy of the Current Clamp Adapter over a
long period of time, it should be calibrated once annually.
Changing the batteries is described under 5.1. For cleaning of the
case, use a clean, lint-free, antistatic and dry cleaning cloth.
Attention!
Do not use any carbonaceous cleaning agents or petroleum, al-
cohol or similar for cleaning. They can attack the surface of the
measuring instrument. Additionally, the fumes are explosive
and endanger health. When cleaning, also use no sharp-edged
tools, screwdrivers, metal brushes or similar.
