• The voltage present in the circuit being measured may under
no circumstances exceed the value of 480 V AC rms or 600 V
DC.
• Note the following symbols
Warning!
Electric shock if touched!
Attention!
Protection class 2 symbol (double-insulated)
• Measuring instruments and accessories are not toys and do not
belong in the hands of children!
• In commercial facilities the accident-prevention regulations of
the Industrial Employers' Liability Association for electrical sy-
stems and equipment must be observed.
• In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops,
the handling of measuring instruments must be supervised re-
sponsibly by trained personnel.
• Except where this can be performed manually, live parts may
be exposed when opening covers or removing components.
Connecting parts may also be live. Before any adjustment,
maintenance, repair or replacement of components or assem-
blies, if it is necessary to open the unit, it must be disconnected
from all voltage sources and circuits. If adjustment, maintenan-
ce or repair is subsequently required on the opened unit while
it is live, these must only be performed by a specialist familiar
with the associated hazards and relevant regulations (VDE-
0100, VDE-0701, VDE-0686).
• Capacitors in the unit may still be charged even when the unit
has been isolated from all voltage sources and circuits.

• Take particular care when dealing with voltages greater than
25 V AC or greater than 35 V DC. Even at these voltages it is
possible to receive a lethal electric shock if electrical conduc-
tors are touched.
Therefore, first of all switch off the voltage source, clamp the
unit around the cable(s) to be measured and only then switch
the voltage source. After completion of the measurement,
switch off the voltage source and remove the current clamp
from the circuit.
• Before each measurement check the unit and its cables for da-
mage. Under no circumstances carry out measurements when
the protective insulation is damaged (torn, torn away, etc.).
• The measuring instrument should not be used in areas or un-
der adverse environmental conditions in which inflammable
gas, fumes or dust are present or can occur.
For your own safety it is essential to avoid the measuring in-
strument or its cables becoming damp or wet. Avoid excessive
humidity and steam. While performing measurements the
hands, shoes and the floor must without fail be dry.
• To avoid electric shock, care should be taken that current rails
and connections (points of measurement) are not touched du-
ring measurement, not even indirectly. Measurements in cur-
rent sources with inductive / capacitive charges and measure-
ment during storms is very dangerous and so is to be avoided,
because especially in these cases very high voltages/discharges
are to be reckoned with. Currents > 600 A can lead to damage
to the current clamp adapter. Take care that only one single in-
sulated cable (30 mm max. diameter) is enclosed when making
measurements. Measurement of multi-core single-phase ca-
bles is not possible.
If in contrast two or more insulated cables (30 mm max. total
diameter) of a multi-phase system are enclosed, the indicated
