7. Commissioning

To ensure that the device is set up correctly, always read these operating instructions including
the safety instructions thoroughly and attentively before use.
Check the device for damage before using it. If the device is damaged, do not operate it and
consult an expert or our service team.

7.1 Setup/Installation

The setup and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who is familiar
with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Maintenance, operation and commissioning of
this device must only be carried out by qualified persons.
When choosing a place of setup or mounting site for your device, make sure to avoid shocks,
vibration, dust, hot and cold temperatures and dampness. There also must not be any powerful
transformers, motors or other devices with a strong interference emission in the device's
proximity.
Never cover the device. Ensure sufficient ventilation when setting up the device with other
equipment. Maintain a distance of at least 15 cm to other devices and walls. Never put up the
effect light in direct proximity of heat sources. Do not point any strong spotlights or light
sources towards the device. This may cause overheating (danger of fire!).
The effect light must only be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 35°C and a relative
humidity of max. 75%.
Do not drill or screw additional screws in the housing in order to fasten the device. This may
expose dangerous voltage to touch.
The device must be installed/set up out of normal reach.
Easily flammable materials like decorative fabrics must have a distance of at least 0.75 m to the
device. Otherwise, such objects may catch fire!
When setting up/installing the device, make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed or
damaged by sharp edges.
During installation or service work, the area below the place of installation must be cordoned
off. Never stand below the place of installation either.
The setup/installation surface or fixture must be designed to carry ten times the load capacity
for at least one hour without any permanent damaging deformation.
Additionally, the device must be secured with a second independent safety fixture besides the
actual installation fixture when installed/set up in an elevated position. No part of the installation
must fall down if the main suspension system fails.
Observe all relevant regulations of your country when mounting/installing the device.
