• The measuring instrument may be used in overvoltage
Category II and III installations in accordance with IEC 664,
provided that the voltage in the circuit being measured
does not exceed 600 V AC rms/DC.
• Measuring instruments and their accessories are not toys
and do not on any account belong in the hands of children!
• In commercial facilities the accident-prevention regula-
tions of the industrial employers' liability association for
electrical systems and equipment must be observed.
• In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help work-
shops, the handling of measuring instruments must be su-
pervised responsibly by trained personnel.
• Capacitors in the unit may remain charged even when the
unit has been isolated from all voltage sources and cir-
cuits.
• Take particular care when dealing with voltages greater
than 25 V AC or greater than 35 V DC! Even at these volt-
ages a lethal electric shock can be received if electrical
conductors are touched.
• Before each change of measuring range, the leakage cur-
rent tester must be removed from the object being mea-
sured (current rail, conductor, etc).
• Before each measurement, check the unit and its test
leads for damage. Under no circumstances carry out mea-
surements when the protective insulation is damaged
(torn, torn away, etc.).
• During each current measurement avoid high humidity or
steam.
• To avoid electric shock, take care that the connections or
current rails to be measured (measurement points) are not
touched during measurement, even indirectly.
