Useful tips on Handling CDs:

• Hold CDs at the edges only. This avoids fingerprints on or soiling of the surface.
• Always place the CD in the CD tray with the written side facing upwards
• Handle CDs with clean hands only.
• If one of your CDs is dirty, wipe it clean from the middle outwards using a soft, lint-free cloth. Never
clean CDs in a circular motion. Never use solvents.
• If you can not remove the dirt, please use a commercially available CD cleaning agent (do not use a
cleaning agent for records) and heed the manufacturer's instructions for use.
• Do not label your CDs and do not apply any stickers or the like.
• After playback, return your CDs to the protective cases provided.
• Avoid exposing stored CDs to direct sun radiation, heat and moisture.

Maintenance

Periodically check the technical safety of the device, e.g. check for damage to the power cable or the
housing.
If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the device immediate-
ly and secure it against inadvertent operation. Pull the power plug out of the socket!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• there is visible damage to the device or to the power line,
• the device no longer works
• it has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions
• it was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport
The safety instructions below must be noted before the device is cleaned or maintained:
Live components may be exposed if the covering is opened or components are removed.
The device must be disconnected from all power sources before carrying out
any servicing or repair work.
Capacitors in the device may still be charged even after it has been disconnect-
ed from all power sources.
Repair work must always be carried out by specialists familiar with the hazards
involved and with the relevant regulations.
