Automatic dehumidification
Examples Dehumidification strategies
i
and splitting of the volumetric flows
Appendix.
Automatic dehumidification is always active
regardless of the set operating mode (auto-
matic or system operation).
The PPB 30 K ventilation units automatically
start the dehumidification process (ex-
haust air mode or intensive ventilation).
The dehumidification strategy is set using the
commissioning software (installer level).
Note: Increased wind loads (strong gusts)
can, depending on the system, influence the
humidity detection of the internal sensor.
Exhaust air mode configuration
Above intensive ventilation, the PPB 30 K unit
switches into exhaust air mode (= max. dehu-
midification at 45 m³/h) until the humidity falls
3% below the maximum humidity value. In
exhaust air mode, volumetric flow compen-
sation is undertaken with all ventilation units
connected to the RLS 45 K. The PP 45 and/
or PPB 30 O units connected to the RLS 45 K
automatically switch to supply air.
Intensive ventilation configuration
Above the maximum humidity value limit, the
PPB 30 K units run with intensive ventilation.
This mode is ended automatically when the
humidity falls 3 % below the maximum humid-
ity value.
Exhaust air mode/intensive ventilation
i
can also be started manually with the
optional buttons/switches. Functions
started manually run for the set time
(parameters PPB 30 K duration of
button function) and then switch off
automatically. For manual operation

6.7 Manual exhaust air mode for PPB 30 O
Both fans of the PPB 30 unit run at full load =
air extraction at a total of 45 m³/h without heat
recovery.
44
The following applies to RLS 45 O +
i
PPB 30 O: Exhaust air mode is only
released when using one individual
PPB 30 O in combination with an
RLS 45 O controller (unit type setting
= PPB 30 and number of units = 1).
In this case, there is no compensation
of volumetric flow. Air extraction in
compliance with the relevant standards
can thereby be ensured in a bathroom,
for example.
This mode is switched on manually by press-
ing the "Ventilation level" key on the RLS 45
O for more than 2 seconds. Exhaust air mode
usually lasts 10 minutes.
6.8 Manual exhaust air mode and inten-
sive ventilation mode for PPB 30 K
This mode is switched on manually using an
optional button or switch. We would recom-
mend using a switch for the start delay.
Parameters for the function duration and start
delay can be set by the specialist installer
using the commissioning software.
Volumetric flow compensation for a PPB 30 K
in exhaust air mode is undertaken using the
PP 45 and/or PPB 30 O units connected to the
fan interface (Fan1 / Fan2). These run in sup-
ply air mode when exhaust air mode is active.
Volumetric flow compensation can
i
only be realised for one PPB 30 K.
6.9 Deactivating ventilation level "0"
The Off function (ventilation level 0) can be de-
activated by the specialist installer. This ensures
a permanent basic level of ventilation, to avoid
damage from mould, for example. For more
information Commissioning instructions.
6.10 Control unit's LED display
The LEDs are dimmed after 5 minutes to save
energy. To switch back to normal operation,
simply press a key.
The LED display can be set using the com-
missioning software of the RLS 45 K control
(function cannot be set in service mode).
