Selecting the Weight Unit
The pocket scale provides the option of weighing with 4 different weight units.
Gram (g), ounce (oz), pennyweight (dwt) or troy ounce (ozt). Press the „MODE" button (2),
when the scale is switched on. Each press switches the weight unit. The selected unit is shown
by a line in a triangle, on the right side of the display. The last selected unit remains selected
after switching the device off.
Weighing
Switch on the scale and, depending on the unit, wait until „0.00" or „0.000" is displayed.
Place the object to be weighed carefully on the weighing plate (5).
Wait for approx. 5 seconds, until the reading is constant. The measurement result is displayed.
Remove the object from the scale, immediately after measuring, to avoid damage to the scale.
Press the „ON/OFF" button to turn off. „OFF" will appear on the display and the device will turn
off.
Tare function
To weigh liquids or bulk goods, weighing vessels can be used. To correct for the weight of the
weighing vessel during measuring, the tare function can be used.
The total weight of weighing vessel and weighing object must not exceed the
max. weight 200 g. The tare function is only active from >2 g. For lower val-
ues, the display shows zero.
Switch on the scale, and wait until „0.00" is displayed.
Place the empty weighing vessel on the weighing plate (5) and wait until the displayed value is
constant.
Then, briefly press the „TARE" button (1). The displayed value is set to zero. Thus, the weight
of the weighing vessel in not included in the subsequent measurement. The active tare function
is indicated by a small triangle in the left display frame (-> T <-).
Remove the weighing vessel and fill with the material to be weighed.
Place the filled vessel carefully on to the weighing plate (5). Dynamic measurements, i.e. by fill-
ing with material is not feasible, as this leads to erroneous measurements.
Wait for approx. 5 seconds, until the reading is constant. The measurement result is displayed.
Press the „ON/OFF" button to turn off. „OFF" will appear on the display and the device will
turn off.
Automatic Switch Off
To save batteries, and to increase the operating time, the pockets scale switches off automati-
cally after approx. 90 seconds, if no keystroke is performed and no weight is measured.
Press the „ON/OFF" button (3), to switch the scale on again.
Adjustment (Calibration)
The pocket scale should be re-adjusted after a while, to avoid measuring inaccuracies. For the
adjustment (calibration), an optional 100 g reference weight is required.
To carry out the adjustment, proceed as follows:
Switch the scale off and place it on a level and stable surface.
Press, and hold, the „TARE" button for approx. 2 seconds, until a numerical value appears on
the display. An exact value is not relevant.
Wait until the value has stabilised and press the „TARE" button again.
„ZEro" is shown on the display, and then the calibration value „100".
Place the 100 g reference weight on to the weighing plate. A system value will be shown. Press
the „TARE" key.
„CAL" and then „PASS" are shown on the display. Remove the reference weight from the scale
and switch the scale off. The scale is readjusted.
You can order a suitable calibration weight (100 g), by stating the following order
number:
Order No. 12 11 73
