OPERATION

Weighing
• Hang up the scale securely at a place appropriate for the applied weight.
• Switch on the scale by pressing the „ON" key. The scale now performs a „Power Up"
test. For approx. 1 second, all segments of the LC display appear, then the weight
indication shows „0.00".
If the display does not show „0.00", press the „TARE" key. The scale is ready
for operation immediately after it has been switched on. However, a short
warm-up phase of approx. 30 seconds is useful for stabilizing the measuring
values. Avoid disturbing ambient conditions such as air drafts and vibrations,
since theses might involve inaccurate measuring values. Never hang
permanent loads on the scale. Do not overload the scale - risk of breakage
and danger due to parts falling down!
Overload
If the weighing material is heavier than the weighing range of the scale, the LC display
indicates „EEEE".
In case of overload, immediately remove the weighing material from the scale.
Please observe that overload might involve damage of the highly sensitive
weighing unit. Such damages are not covered by the guarantee.
TARE function
The TARE function is intended for net measuring using a weighing container. The TARE
function balances the weight of the used measuring container so that the LC display shows
only the net weight of the substance to be measured.
Switch on the scale and hang the empty weighing container (bucket, basket, etc.) onto the
weighing hook and wait until the display has stabilized.
Now, press the TARE key and the weight indication is „0.00" despite of the weighing
container hanging on the scale. Fill the weighing material into the weighing container. The
display indicates the net weight of the weighing material. If you would like to measure
without the weighing container, remove the container from the weighing hook and press
the TARE key again.
Please observe that the weighing range of the scale including the weighing
container is 10kg (HS-10) or 30kg (HS-30). Therefore, it is recommended to
use a weighing container with a weight as low as possible.
Switching off the scale
• The scale can be switched off by pressing the „OFF" key.
• In order to save battery capacity, the scale is equipped with an „Auto Shut Off" function.
Due to this function, the scale is switched off automatically when it is not in use.
Selecting the unit of weight
You can select the units of weight „kg" and „lb" as well as the temperature indication by
pressing the "SET" key.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, lint-free, antistatic cloth only. Never use
abrasives or solvents. Do not use moistened cleansing cloths.
DISPOSAL
a) General information
Electric and electronic products do not belong to the household waste!
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant
statutory regulations.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries via the domestic waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked
with the following symbols, which point out that disposal in the domestic waste

is prohibited.
The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd=cadmium,
Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (name on battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. under the

trash icons on the left).
You can return your exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge
to any authorized disposal station in your local authority, to our stores or to
any other store where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
