4 Connection

Load cells can be connected either to Carrier--frequency--amplifiers or DC--amplifiers.
Warning: Electric and magnetic fields often cause interference voltages to be coupled into the
measurement circuit.
Therefore:
D only use shielded, low capacity measurement cables (measurement cables by HBM
requirements).
D do not route these measurement cables in parallel to power and control lines. If this is not possible,
protect the measurement cable (e.g. by means of steel--sheathed pipes).
D avoid the leakage fields of transformers, motors and contactors.
Load cells can be connected electrically in parallel by connecting up the same colour wire ends of the
load cell connection cables. The output signal will then be the mean value of the individual output
signals.
Warning: In such cases, an overload situation on a single load cell cannot be detected by means
of the output signal.
Wiring code 6- -wire circuit
Type HLC .1 .. + BLC .1 .. / 220kg; 550kg; 1.1t; 1.76t (see type code on page 15)
When connecting to amplifiers in a four conductor arrangement, then, for HLC .1 .. / 220kg ... 1.76t
and for BLC .1 .. / 220kg ... 1.76t, the wires blue to green and black to grey are to be connected up.
The following deviations occur on unshortened cables (3m):
Wiring code 4- -wire circuit
Type HLC . .. / 2.2t; 4.4t (see type code on page 15)

Cable extension

For extending cables, only use shielded low capacity measurement cables (measurement cables

provided by HBM meet these requirements). Ensure that there is a perfect connection with the
lowest possible transition resistance. If you use the six conductor circuit, you may neglect any
interference by a change in the resistance of the extension cables. However, if you extend the cable in
a four conductor circuit, the characteristic value deviation may be removed by adjustment.
Temperature influences will not be compensated.
