Operating Instructions
PI-75 Car inverter
Item no. 1591445
Intended use
The inverter converts the DC output voltage of a cigarette lighter socket (10.5 to 15 V/DC) in
a car into an AC voltage (of approx. 220 - 240 V/AC). This enables the connection of different
types of AC-operated consumers to a car battery via an earthing contact socket outlet. The AC
voltage available is intended for the operation of devices of protection class I and II. It must
be ensured, however, that only the prescribed input voltage is used and/or that the maximum
output power is not exceeded. The maximum continuous power is 75 W. A USB charging port
provides a charging station for compatible USB devices such as mobile devices or power
banks. The inverter is equipped with technical features such as automatic shut-off in the case
of undervoltage or overvoltage, overload or short circuit as well as overheat protection. The
fuse protects the product in the event of reversed polarity of the input voltage.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g.
in bathrooms) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition,
improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit or fire. Read the operating instructions
carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.
This product complies with statutory, national and European regulations. All company and
product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.
Always follow the safety information in these operating instructions.

Explanation of symbols
A triangle containing a lightning symbol indicates a health hazard e.g. electric shock.
The device does not contain parts that should be serviced by the user. Therefore, do
not open the device.
The symbol with an exclamation mark in a triangle is used to highlight important
information in these operating instructions. Always read this information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special information and advice on how to use the
product.
Danger of burning on hot surfaces! The device produces heat! Do not touch these
surfaces in certain areas! Burn hazard! Caution! Do not impair cooling during
operation!

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. If you do
not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in
these operation instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a
dangerous toy for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorised use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in adverse ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
may damage the product.
• Always observe the safety instructions and operating instructions of any other
devices which are connected to the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a
specialist repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Electrical safety
• The inverter can only supply consumers with 230 V/AC with 75 W maximum power
consumption.
• In the event of a thunderstorm, unplug the inverter from the cigarette lighter to
prevent damage to the device due to excess voltage.
• Never connect 230 V/AC mains voltage to the output of the inverter. Even when
the device is switched off, internal components may be subject to brief power
surges of 230 V.
• A hazardous voltage (greater than 35 V/DC) may occur on the device, which in
some cases may pose a danger of death.
• Before starting up the device, ensure that your hands and the device itself are dry.
• Never disassemble the inverter. There is the risk of an electrical shock.
• Never switch the device on immediately after bringing it from a cold room into
a warm room. The resulting condensation inside the device may destroy the
device. Leave the device switched off and wait until it has adjusted to the ambient
temperature.
• Never place objects containing liquid (e.g. glasses, buckets, vases or plants)
above or immediately next to the device. Liquids may seep into the casing and
impair the electrical safety of the device. There is also the risk of a fire or a fatal
electric shock. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist repair centre.
c) Persons and product
• This device may be used by children and people with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack or knowledge and experience if they are given
supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the device. Children are not
permitted to play with or clean the device.
• Do not place naked flames, such as burning candles, on or immediately next to
the device.
• The device may not be operated in the vicinity of flammable material.
• Do not cover the ventilation openings on the device. Maintain a few centimetres
of clearance around the product. A sufficient air flow must be guaranteed as the
device is cooled primarily by circulating air.
• Do not insert any objects into the ventilation openings on the device. Capacitors
may still be charged, even if the device has been disconnected from all voltage
sources.
• Try not to operate the product if the vehicle's engine is not running. Otherwise, the
battery will discharge deeply.
• Remove the inverter from the cigarette lighter of your vehicle when it is not in use.
• Do not operate the device when it is unattended.
• Only use the product in temperate climates. It is not suitable for use in tropical
climates.
• Do not use the inverter in the vicinity of computers and other electrical devices.

Connection
Always switch the consumer off before connecting it to the live inverter.
Always ensure proper contact. Improper contact can cause the device to
overheat.
To operate the inverter via the cigarette lighter of your vehicle, it is advisable to
switch on and run the engine to ensure a reliable energy supply. When the engine is
turned off, the vehicle's battery will discharge very quickly.
• Remove the plug from the cigarette lighter and insert the connecting plug (3) of the inverter
into the 12 - 15 V/DC socket of the cigarette lighter. The LED indicator (2) will turn green. The
centre connection contact is the positive terminal "+", the two side contacts act as negative
terminals "-".
• Plug the mains plug of the consumer into the integrated earthing contact socket outlet (1) at
the other end of the device.
Ensure that the total power of all inductive consumers connected to the inverter
does not exceed one third of the short-term peak of the product.
• Switch on the consumer(s).
