OPERATING INSTRUcTIONS
WR 300-12 USB INVERTER
ITEm NO.: 51 29 61

INTENDED USE

The inverter converts 12 -13.8 V/DC to 230 V/AC with a maximum power of 300 W via a direct
current source (e.g. a car battery) or a cigarette lighter outlet. This allows the connection of
different types of mains voltage appliances to the car battery. The inverter can provide AC
voltage for both safety class I and II products. However, the maximum power consumption of
the electrical load, e.g. televisions, lamps, etc., must not exceed 300 W (90 W with the cigarette
lighter plug). It integrates several safety features such as low voltage protection, overheat
protection, overload protection and short-circuit protection. Only operate the inverter indoor or
inside a car. It must be used in connection with a 12 – 13.8 V/DC power source.
This product is compliance with directives required by the European
Union. It is licensed for operation on public roads in vehicles, with the
exception of vehicles which run on rails and of agricultural and forestry
tractors and all mobile machinery.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

SAFETy INSTRUcTIONS

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
Persons / Product
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
-
is visibly damaged,
-
is no longer working properly,
-
has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
-
has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
Never pour liquids over electrical appliances and never leave objects filled with
liquids (e.g. vases) on it or in the vicinity. There is a high risk of fire or life-threatening
electric shock.
In schools, training facilities, hobby or self-service workshops, handling of electrical
devices must be monitored by trained personnel.
When operating on commercial premises, the relevant accident prevention
regulations of workers' compensation boards for electrical equipment must be
observed.
Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
When working with power supplies or chargers, do not wear any metallic or
conductive chains, bracelets, rings etc. Never connect the power supply or charger
with humans or animals.
Check the product for damage(s) each time before use. If you discover any damages,
do not use the product. Disconnect the power supply and unplug the mains adapter
from the wall outlet. Then bring the product to a specialised workshop.
VERSION 07/11
Make sure that the product is provided with adequate ventilation during operation.
Do not cover the ventilation openings with magazines, blankets, curtains or similar.
Keep a minimum distance of approx. 15 cm from other objects.
When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or
damaged by sharp edges.
Make sure there are no devices with strong electric or magnetic fields such as
transformers, motors, cordless telephones and radio-controlled devices in the
vicinity of the product as these can influence the product.
Do not open the casing of the product.
The inverter is capable to produce high voltages (>42 V) that are hazardous to
touch and represent a danger to life under unfavourable conditions.
No object should block the ventilation holes located at the side of the voltage
inverter. Sufficient air circulation must be provided since the voltage inverter is
predominantly cooled by convection ventilation.
During thunderstorms, unplug the device from the cigarette lighter socket in order
to avoid damages due to excess voltage.
The electrical load should be switched off before plugging/ unplugging the inverter
to cigarette lighter outlet.
No 230 V/AC power source should be connected to the output of the inverter. Even
when switched off, the components inside may still briefly be exposed to 230 V/AC.
When inserting the cigarette lighter plug, ensure that it is connected tightly. If the
plug is connected improperly, the inverter will heat up.
The product should not be connected immediately after it has been brought from an
area of cold temperature to an area of warm temperature. Condensed water might
destroy the product. Wait until the product stabilises to adapt to the new ambient
temperature before use.
miscellaneous
Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
If you are not sure about the correct connection or use, or if questions arise which are not

OPERATION

Before connecting, ensure the inverter is turned off. The ON / OFF switch should be at the
OFF position.
Ensure all the terminals / connectors of the product(s) to be connected are
clean before connection.
connection with the battery cords with crocodile clips
1.
Screw off the red and black caps on the inverter.
2.
Set the rings onto the screws of the same colour.
3.
Screw the caps on and tighten them again.
Ensure the connectors are not loose. Poor connection may damage the
product(s) connected to it.
4.
Clip the clips to a 12 – 13.8 V/DC power source (e.g. a car battery) and observe the correct
polarity (black – / red +).
connection with the battery cord with cigarette lighter plug
Always turn off the electrical load before plugging/unplugging the load to/from
the inverter. Ensure it is properly connected. If the inverter is not connected
properly, it may heat up or may cause electric shocks, fire, etc.
When using the cigarette lighter plug, the power consumption of the connected
load must not exceed 90 W.
1.
Loosen the caps on the inverter.
2.
Place the C-shaped connector between the caps and the bases of the same colour.
3.
Fasten the caps again.
Ensure the connectors are not loose. Poor connection may damage the product
/ the products connected to it.
