Charging the Rechargeable Batteries for the Vehicle

Important!
• Observe chapters 6 and 7. Improper handling of the Li-Ion rechargeable batteries and the charger will
cause various dangers!
• Never charge the rechargeable batteries unsupervised.
• Charging of a partially discharged Li-Ion rechargeable battery is not a problem; previous discharging is not
required. However, observe that the rechargeable battery is regularly run empty and then charged fully to
maintain complete performance.
• After running the vehicle, only charge the rechargeable batteries after they have cooled down to room
temperature. The same applies after the charging procedure. Do not use the rechargeable batteries in the
vehicle until they have cooled down sufficiently.
• The charger and the rechargeable batteries must not get damp or wet. Never cover the charger and the
rechargeable batteries. Do not expose the charger and rechargeable battery to any high/low temperatures
or to direct solar radiation.
• The enclosed Li-Ion rechargeable batteries are delivered uncharged and must be charged. Before the
rechargeable batteries reach their maximum capacity, several complete discharge and charge cycles are
necessary.
• Regularly recharge the rechargeable batteries (about every 2 - 3 months). Otherwise, self-discharge of the
batteries may cause deep discharge. This renders the rechargeable batteries useless!
• First connect the round plug of the plug-in charger to the corresponding socket of the charging tray.
• Plug the plug-in charger into a proper mains socket of the public mains (wall outlet).
• Insert the two Li-Ion rechargeable batteries into the charging tray. Always observe correct polarity (plus/+ and
minus/-). The polarity is indicated in the charging tray and on the rechargeable batteries.
One LED per charging tray will indicate charging.
LED is lit red: The battery is being charged
LED is lit green: Charging completed
• Remove the rechargeable batteries from the charging tray when charging is complete. Charging completely flat
rechargeable batteries may take up to 3 hours.
• When the vehicle is not operated and the rechargeable batteries are removed from the vehicle, the rechargeable
batteries must be kept in a suitable location that is not accessible to children. Protect the rechargeable battery
contacts from short circuit since there is a danger of fire and explosion. The same applies at mechanical damage to
the rechargeable batteries or at high temperatures (e.g. near a heating or in direct sunlight).
• Pull the plug-in charger from the mains socket when you no longer need the charger.
