HD Surveillance Camera
These instructions are intended for installers of video
surveillance systems. Please read the instructions
carefully prior to installation and keep them for later
reference.
1 Applications
This high-resolution colour camera is specially designed for
use in video surveillance systems (CCTV). The video formats
HD-TVI, HD-CVI and AHD support transmission of high-res-
olution analog video signals (1080p) via standard coaxial
cables with a maximum length of 300 m. Alternatively, the
video signal output can be switched to composite video
signal (CVBS).
The rugged metal housing of the camera is weatherproof
(IP 66) and therefore also suitable for outdoor applications.
The camera is equipped with a motorized zoom lens with
autofocus. The camera features include automatic white
balance, digital noise suppression and other functions to be
configured via OSD menu. The menu and the lens can be
controlled via the control lever (5) or remote-controlled by
means of a video recorder with COC protocol. In the dark,
the IR LEDs will illuminate a surveillance zone of up to 50 m,
the IR filter will be deactivated and the camera will switch
to B/W mode.
2 Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives of the EU
and is therefore marked with .

Protect the camera against extreme temperatures (ad-
missible ambient temperature range: −10 °C to +50 °C).
•
When cleaning the housing, never use aggressive deter-
gents or chemicals.
•
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the camera is used for other purposes than
originally intended, if it is not correctly installed, or if it is
not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal
which is not harmful to the environment.

3 Installation
1) Make a test run first to find the best mounting location.
2) At the mounting location (e. g. wall or ceiling), drill three
holes for fixing the base (4) and, if necessary, drill a hole
for the connection cable (alternatively, the cable can be
guided through one of the cable inlets on the side of
the base). Fasten the base at the mounting location. If
required, use the hex key provided to release the locking
screws (3) of the camera support.
3) Connect the BNC connector VIDEO OUT (7) to the input
of a video recorder (e. g. AXR series from MONACOR) or
to the input of a monitor.
The signal format is preset to HD-TVI. To change the

4) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a per-
manent rating of 450 mA to the inline jack (6). A low-volt-
age plug 5.5 / 2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) is required.
Always observe the correct polarity (centre contact = +).
CAUTION The infrared LEDs will switch on when
darkness falls. When setting up the camera, never look
directly into the lit infrared LEDs from a close range.
The infrared light may cause eye irritation. However,
the infrared radiation is far below the emission limit
and rated risk-free according to EN 62471.
5) For outdoor installation please note:
The connections (6, 7) and the cable splitter with the
control lever (5) are not weatherproof; protect them
accordingly.
6) Switch on the video recorder and the monitor connected
and align the camera by means of the image on the
monitor: Use the hex key provided to release the locking
screws (3), position the camera as desired and fasten
the screws again.
7) To adjust the focal length of the lens (i. e. the desired
image area), move the control lever (5) vertically (UP,
DOWN). To focus the image, move the control lever hori-
zontally (L, R). The image can also be focussed automat-

Alternatively, use the corresponding commands (Pan,
Tilt) for the PTZ remote control of a video recorder to
control the lens.
8) To protect the lens against direct sunlight, place the sun-
shield (1) on the camera and fasten it with the locking
screw (2).

4 Settings via OSD Menu
The camera settings can be changed via OSD menu which is
operated via the control lever (5) or via PTZ remote control
from the video recorder. The control is made by means of
the COC protocol (Coax) via the video cable. To activate the
OSD menu, press the lever ( ) or send the control command
"Iris +" on the video recorder. The main menu will appear:

To select a menu item, move the lever vertically  or use
control commands for the vertical movement (Tilt). To change
the value or to select an option, move the lever horizontally
 or use control commands for the horizontal movement

(Pan). When the symbol appears behind a menu item or an
option, the lever can be pressed or the command "Iris +"
can be used to call up a submenu or to activate a function.
