11.7 Squelch function

The squelch function allows you to set the sensitivity with which it responds.
The higher the value the stronger is the squelch. However, the range is reduced.
The lower the value the weaker is the squelch. When the squelch value is lower, the
range is longer.
• Switch on the walkie-talkie.
• Press the "S" button or the "F" until "SQ" is displayed and
press the "Enter" button.
• Press buttons "S" or "F" to set the desired squelch value
(01=weak squelch or 02=strong squelch).
• Press the "Enter" button to confirm and save the settings.

11.8 VOX function (voice control, hands-free operation)

The VOX function allows you to transmit automatically as soon as you start speak-
ing without having to press the "PTT" button.
Make sure that instead of your voice no ambient noise activates
transmit mode. VOX sensitivity can be adjusted in three stages.
• Switch on the walkie-talkie.
• Press the "S" button or the "F" until "Vot" is displayed and
press the "Enter" button to go to VOX selection mode. "ON"
or "OFF" is displayed depending on if VOX is activated or
deactivated.
• Press buttons "S" or "F" to select the desired VOX sensitivi-
ty (01=lowest sensitivity, 03=highest sensitivity).
• Press the "Enter" button to confirm and save the settings.
The VOX function can also be activated or deactivated by pressing the "VOX" but-
ton. When the VOX function is activated, "VOX" is displayed.
The VOX function can also be deactivated by pressing the "Enter" button when the
VOX function and transmit mode are active.
