9. Inserting or replacing the rechargeable batteries

• Pull off the belt clip on the back downwards.
• Open the battery compartment lid by tilting down the locking clip.
• Remove the battery compartment lid.
• Remove the empty rechargeable batteries (if batteries have already been inserted).
• Insert 4 of the 8 supplied 1.2 V/DC AA batteries observing the correct polarity.
• Put back the battery compartment lid.
• Close it by re-attaching the locking clip.
• Slide the previously removed belt clip back into its position on the back.

10. Charging the rechargeable batteries

Before the first use, we recommend completely charging the supplied rechargeable
batteries.
Caution! Only rechargeable batteries may be charged. Before
plugging in the charger cable into the walkie-talkie, make sure
you have inserted rechargeable batteries instead of normal
batteries. There is a corresponding warning on the back of the
walkie-talkie. If you try to charge non-rechargeable batteries,
there is the risk of explosion and gassing. Non-rechargeable
batteries must not be recharged. The rechargeable batteries
may only the charged inside the walkie-talkie using the appro-
priate charger adapter available as an accessory (not included
in delivery). Do not leave the devices unattended during the
charging process.
To make sure the rechargeable batteries are properly charged, they have to be
inserted into the PMR walkie-talkie first (see chapter "9. Inserting or replacing the
rechargeable batteries") and then placed on the charging station. Make sure that
the provided wall power supply is connected to the charging station so that the bat-
teries can be charged. During the charging process, the battery symbol (D) flashes
on the display of the PMR walkie-talkie. As soon as the battery symbol (D) stops
flashing, the rechargeable batteries are fully charged.
