11.5 Transmit and receive

Hold your walkie-talkie upright (aerial pointing upwards) at a dis-
tance of 2.5 to 5 cm to your mouth.
Press the "PTT" button. "TX" is displayed and the walkie-talkie is
in transmit mode. Speak clearly into the built-in microphone, but
not too loudly.
Let go of the "PTT" button when you are done speaking.
The device switches to receive mode. As soon as a radio signal is received, "RX" is
displayed and the partner walkie-talkie is played back by the loudspeaker.
Note that your conversation can be heard by anyone using the
same radio channel and sub-channel. Listening in to conversa-
tions not intended for you is impermissible. The contents of
radio messages overheard unintentionally must not be dis-
closed to others.

11.6 SCAN function

The SCAN function scans through all channels successively. It stops when radio
operation on a channel is detected and allows you to listen for a few seconds. After
about 10 seconds, scanning is resumed.
• Switch on the walkie-talkie.
• Press the "S" button or the "F" until "Sca" is displayed and
press the "Enter" button. "SCAN" is displayed below the
channel number.
• The walkie-talkie now scans for available radio channels. If
an appropriate channel is found, the walkie-talkie stops at
that channel for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, scanning for
available radio channels is resumed. Press the "Enter" button
to confirm the found channel and stop scanning. When scan-
ning is stopped, the current radio channel and sub-channel
are used.
