4. Care and maintenance

Warning:
Always remove the mains plug from the
socket before carrying out any mainte-
nance work on the unit.
When carrying out repair work, please
ensure that you use only genuine Kärcher
spare-parts.
At regular intervals and when finishing
work
– clean the unit and wipe out the filter compart-
ment with a moist cloth.
– clean the rubber seal on the cover.

– hoses and cables
4.1 Changing the paper filter bag
• Pull the cover lock in the direction of the ar-
row and swing open the cover.
• Remove the paper filter bag and holder from
the filter basket.
• Pull the catch to remove the paper filter bag.
Note: Full paper filter bags can be sea-
led by removing the film from the
paper and sticking the latter over
the suction opening.

• Insert new filter bag.
Note: Ensure that the paper filter bag
locks into position in the holder.
• Insert the holder into the filter basket and clo-
se the cover.
Important:
Ensure that the recess on the left side of
the holder is connected to the lug. If the
holder is incorrectly inserted or not inser-
ted at all, the vacuum cleaner will not start
when the cover is closed.

4.2 Cleaning the filter basket

The filter basket must be cleaned occasional-
ly:
• Lift out filter basket. Tap and brush off sides,
or wash out with clean water. Filter basket
must be completely dry before it is reinserted
into cleaner.
4.3 Changing the microfilter
The microfilter must be changed after every ten
filter bag replacement:
• Open the filter frame
• Remove and replace the microfilter
• Close the filter box.
