1. Important information
Please note the following points before
start-up:
• Please contact your dealer immediately if da-
mage has been caused in transit.
• The voltage stated on the rating plate must
correspond to the power source.
• The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for remo-
ving liquids of any kind.
• Carpets which have been treated with a liquid
cleaner must be allowed to dry before being
cleaned with the unit.
• The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for remo-
ving dust which is a health hazard.
• Never operate the vacuum cleaner without a
paper filter bag.
• Do not operate the vacuum cleaner without
first inserting a microfilter and exhaust air fil-
ter.
Safety information and precautions
• Do not run over, crush or pull the mains con-
necting cable, otherwise it may be damaged.
Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp ed-
ges.
• The mains connecting cable must be exami-
ned regularly for damage and ageing. The
unit must not be used if the mains connecting
cable is not in perfect condition.
• If the mains cable is defective, the complete
cable winder must be replaced by Kärcher cu-
stomer service or an authorized service cent-
re.
• Keep electric appliances out of the reach of
children. Do not point the unit towards people
or animals.

CAUTION:
Never use the unit to remove:
• hot ashes
• explosive liquids
this includes petrol, paint thinners and
heating oil, as these form explosive va-
pours when mixed with the suction air.
• acetone
• acids and solvents

Protecting the environment

• When you have unpacked the unit, do not
simply throw the packaging into the house-
hold waste.
• Take the various items of packaging to the
appropriate collecting points for recycling.
