9. Commissioning

First take the outdoor sensor into operation and then the weather station.
The battery compartment of the outdoor sensor contains DIP switches to select the channel and temperature unit.
Selection is required before inserting the batteries. If the DIP-switches are changed in operation, the set values
will not be assumed.
If the set values of an outdoor sensor in operation are to be changed, remove the batteries first. Then set the DIP
switches accordingly. Activate the scan for the outdoor sensor (see item "Manually finding outdoor sensors")
or restart the weather station by briefly powering down the weather station entirely (batteries and mains adapt-
er).
The distance between the outdoor sensors and the weather station should be 1.5 m - 3 m at commissioning. If
the sensors are too close to the weather station, they may not be received. Ensure selection of different chan-
nels if you operate more than one sensor.
a) Outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor by removing the screw of the battery compartment lid and taking
off the battery compartment lid.
• Select the transmission channel of the outdoor sensor by setting the DIP switch 1-3 in the battery compartment accord-
ingly. When operating only a single outdoor sensor, always set the channel to 1. If several outdoor sensors are operated
(up to 8 are possible), set a different channel for each outdoor sensor.
Select the temperature unit "°C" (degrees Celsius) or "°F" (degrees Fahrenheit) with the DIP switch 4 in the battery
compartment of the outdoor sensor. This setting applies only to the temperature display at the outdoor sensor, but not to
the display of the outdoor temperature at the weather station.
Set the DIP-switches 1-4 according to the table (DOWN / UP).
The figure shows the DIP-switches 1-4 in the OFF positions (= DOWN).

• Insert two type AAA/Micro batteries in the battery compartment in the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
Do not use any rechargeable batteries. Only use alkaline batteries. The display of the outdoor sensor briefly shows all
display segments, and then the first measured value for temperature and humidity and the current transmission channel
(channel 1-8).
