11. STORAGE, DISASSEMBLY AND DISPOSAL
11.1 STORAGE
Long storage periods without occasional charging/discharging can cause
permanent damage to the battery.
Storing the battery at room temperature (20°C to 30°C) will result in a
self-discharge of 3 - 6% per month due to internal reactions. Avoid stor-
ing the battery at temperatures above room temperature. High storage
temperatures also cause an increased battery self-discharge rate.
Batteries stored at room temperature should be recharged every six
months to maintain full capacity and service life.
The Protect B should be connected to the mains supply before storage
to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
The charging time should at least correspond to the time specified in
Chapter 10.1.
11.2 DISASSEMBLY
To disassemble the device, follow the assembly instructions in reverse
order.
11.3 DISPOSAL
When decommissioning the device for the last time, in the interests
of environmental protection and recycling you should dispose of the
individual components of the device in accordance with regulations and
statutory guidelines. Please note that breaching these regulations may
be deemed an offense.
Disposal of used electrical and electronic devices (applicable within the
European Union and other European countries with separate collection
systems for these devices).
