MIDI OPERATION

The player can provide the operating information of the buttons and controls in universal MIDI format and
may thus be used for controlling MIDI-compatible DJ software on a computer. The player is compatible to
both PC and Mac.
1
Connect the jack USB MIDI to your computer using the included USB cable.
2
Switch to MIDI operation with the button SOURCE. Keep the button pressed, until a all three LEDs
above the button. Now, the player activates MIDI control mode.
• The MIDI mode cannot be activated if the USB link mode is selected for the jack MIDI in the system
settings.
3
Open your DJ software to make the required adjustment for receiving MIDI data generated by the
player. Now, the software can be operated using the buttons and controls on the player.
• Configuration varies from software to software. Refer to your program's documentation to learn how to
do this.
• Most audio applications have a MIDI learn function which allows you to quickly assign the control
elements of the controller to control specific parameters within the software.
• If your software does not have this functionality, it may still be possible to manually assign the
program's features to be controlled by the specific MIDI CC data generated by the control elements of
the controller. Refer to your program's user documentation to find out how to do this.
4
Now, the DJ software can be operated using the buttons and controls on the player. The DJS-2000
allows controlling two virtual decks in your DJ software. Switch between PLAYER A and B (i.e. deck A
and B) with the button MIDI A/B. Each deck is assigned with its own unique MIDI channel.
5
The MIDI channel setting and various other MIDI settings can be changed in the system settings. For
this purpose, switch to a different mode with the button SOURCE (USB 1, USB 2 or CD) as the system
settings cannot be called in MIDI mode.
