k) Measuring Output "W"

In the output measuring range, you can use the included measuring adapter (17) for measuring electric
devices with a power unit and a power input of up to 2500 W. In this case, the DMM records the voltage
in "V", the current in "A", the grid frequency in "Hz", the real power in "W", the apparent power in "VA" and
the effective factor "Cos-Phi". The measured values can be shown in sequence.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values. Do not touch any circuits or
parts of circuits if there could be voltages higher than 25 V ACrms or 35 V DC pre-
sent within them. Danger to life!
The voltage in the output measuring circuit may not exceed 250 V/AC. The max. per-
missible connection output must not exceed 2500 watts. For motor-driven electric
devices, consider the increased start-up-current.
Measuring >5 A may only be performed for max. 10 seconds and at 10 minute inter-
vals.
Before connection, the consumer must be switched off. Otherwise, there may be sparks that
can damage the device plug and adapter. The current measuring range has fuses and is thus
protected against overload. In case of an overload, the high-performance fuse in the DMM will
break.
Proceed as follows to measure output:
- Turn the DMM on and select measuring range
"W".
- Connect the included performance adapter to the
DMM measuring jacks in the right polarity. Always
observe the correct jack assignment. The labels at
the adapter must correspond to the sockets.
Check the firm fitting of the adapter plug.
- Plug the shockproof adapter into a grounded
mains socket.
- Plug the consumer to be measured into the mea-
suring adapter's socket. Switch the consumer
on.
- The main display shows the true power, the
small sub display the apparent power. Press the
"SELECT" button to display more parameters.
Each time you press the button, the measuring
display switches to the next value.
- After measuring, remove the measuring lines from the measured object and turn the DMM off.
