1.1 Connecting the WLANmaus

You require:
▪ WLANmaus (3x batteries or type AAA rechargeable batteries (Micro)).
▪
Z21, z21, or z21start with a switching power supply.
Important: Please note that your z21start needs to have been activated using the z21 activation code.
The activation code is included in Roco Art. 10814 or 10818.
▪
Z21 WLAN router or your own router that is configured for the Z21.
The Z21 instruction manual provides you with information on which other devices you can connect to the Z21.
Please pay attention to the following instructions before starting to connect components:
The warranty will be voided if you are using ROCO and/or Fleischmann components together with
components from other companies. In addition, there is a risk of damage or malfunction to your digital
system. your warranty will also become void if you open the housing of the WLANmaus (except bat-
tery compartment)
Please only carry out any connection work with the operating voltage switched off. Please use care when
connecting devices to the track system to prevent short circuits! An incorrect connection may destroy
the digital components. Please seek the advice of a specialist or local dealer if needed.
It is imperative that you do not connect a normal transformer on the same circuit parallel to the digital
control system. Doing so may destroy the Z21!
Previous ROCO amplifiers model 10761 and 10764 cannot be used together with the WLANmaus and Z21.
The WLANmaus is supplied with electricity by 3 AAA batteries (micro) each with 1.5 V or 3 rechargeable
batteries of the same type (1.2 V each). Batteries must be inserted with the polarity aligned and batteries
or rechargeable batteries must have the same charge!
1. Position the WLAN router so that it is in the centre of the system, so that there are no walls separating
it from the WLANmaus that could disturb the WLAN connection. Connect the WLAN router to your
Z21.
2. Screw the cover of the battery component on the back of the WLANmaus open, release the safety
catch and insert the batteries or rechargeable batteries. It is imperative that the polarity is correct!
Now screw the cover of the battery compartment back on.
3. Press the OK-key, in order to turn on the WLANmaus. Now use the arrow keys to select the language
version. Press the OK-key again
4. If the WLANmaus should be switched off, press the MENu-key together with the OK-key.
Switching on for the first time:
When switching the WLANmaus on for the first time, you will be requested to enter the WLAN information
for your WLAN router.
1. Display message "SSID?"
2. Display message "SuCHEN"
available WLAN networks close to you and displays these.
Should your network not be included in the results list, cancel the procedure by pressing the STOP-key.
You will find the manual network entries in Chapter 3.6.1, page 64
3. Select your desired WLAN network using the arrow keys and confirm with the OK-key.
