3. Initial operation of the Dew Check sensor
3.1 Connection point of the Dew Check Sensor
Insert the plug of the Dew Check in the extension bushing of the HPM 3000+.
At the same time, ensure that you avoid injury from the measuring needles of the HPM 3000+.
The Dew Check sensor is automatically detected by the HPM 3000+ and after approx. 3 seconds the
ascertained measuring values are displayed in the display of the HPM 3000+.
3.2 Alignment of the Dew Check with the local temperature
Attention must be given to ensuring that the
Dew Check dew point- and temperature sensor is
left long enough for it to align itself exactly to the
local climate and until it has the same temperature
as the surrounding air.
Therefore we recommend that the Sensor is fi rst
unpacked and left for some minutes to acclimatise
itself before any readings are taken. The Dew Check
dew point- and temperature sensor needs approximately
one minute per degree Celsius to adjust itself to the
room temperature. Movements in the surrounding air
can accelerate this acclimatisation process (fi g. 1).
When taking readings make sure not to touch the sensor, as this can cause the sensor to heat
up and distort the reading (fi g. 2 and 3).
