d) Mode 4

Mode 4 is a special night-time charging programme for 12 v batteries with reduced charging current during which
the integrated fan is not activated, which allows quiet charging of the battery.
This charging programme is advantageous when, for example, a ship battery is to be charged at night while
the passengers are asleep.
If the battery is not charged completely after nine hours, the battery automatically switches to mode 3 (LED
12 v (5) is illuminated) and the fan is re-activated.

Press the MODE button (2) repeatedly until the LED 12 v with the moon symbol (6) is illuminated.
The LED 12 v with the moon symbol (6) is illuminated during charging and CHARGING (11) is shown in the
display (15).
Press the DISPLAY button (14) to show the charging voltage vOLTAGE (13) or the charging current CURRENT (12).
When the display (15) shows CHARGING (11) 100 (%) as charging status, the charging process is complete and
the charger switches to conservation charging.

e) Mode 5

Mode 5 is a special charging programme to reactivate totally discharged 12 v batteries.

Press the MODE button (2) repeatedly until the LED BOOST 12 v (7) is illuminated.
Depending on the battery charge condition, reactivating the battery takes no more than four hours. During this time,
the LED BOOST 12 v (7) is illuminated and BOS is shown in the display (15).
When reactivation is complete, the charger switches to mode 3 and continues to charge the battery as described
there.
In mode 5, the battery must never be connected to the vehicle electronics during charging. Before
using this charging programme, the battery to be charged must first be disconnected from the
vehicle electronics. Otherwise, there is the risk of the vehicle electronics being damaged.
when using charging programme mode 5 for batteries with a liquid electrolyte, check the condi-
tion of the electrolyte since the high charging voltage in this programme can cause outgassing
and therefore loss of liquid.
