10.1 Using WinDVR

To use WinDVR please follow the operating instructions available on the CD.
The operating instructions can be opened by double-clicking your CD icon. This starts a
FLASH animated menu. Select the option "manual".

11. Information about Signal Range

Range and disturbances
• The system components work in the 2.4 GHz range, which is used by other radio / wire-
less services. Therefore restrictions in the operation and the range can occur through
the devices which work on the same or neighbouring frequency.
• The specified range of up to 100 m is the so-called free field range, i.e. the range within
visible contact between transmitter and receiver. In practical operation, however, there
are floors, walls, garages or ancillary buildings between the transmitter and the receiver
which reduce the range correspondingly.
• The effective attainable distance between transmitter and receiver in normal operation
is very strongly dependent on the installation location and the surroundings.
As a rule, when mounted in a family home, for example, operation should be faultless with-
out radio reception problems.
Further causes for reduced range:
• High frequency disturbances of all types
• Buildings of all types and vegetation
• Conductive metals, in the vicinity of the units, or within or close to the radio path, e.g.
radiators, metal insulation, glass windows, reinforced concrete floors etc.
• Influences on the aerial's transmission characteristics, due to the distance of the trans-
mitter or receiver from conductive areas or objects (including the human body or floor).
• Broadband interference in urban areas that reduces the signal-to-noise ratio; the signal
is not recognised because of the "noise"
• Irradiation from insufficiently shielded electronic devices, e.g. computers operated open-
ly, or similar.
