any vertical surface.
Attention!
Select an installation place, which is not directly exposed to preci-
pitation, heavy dust or direct sun radiation! Suitable place for instal-
lation of the radio temperature-sensor on the outside of a building
is e.g. an eave.
Screw the fixture – as shown in the following drawing – onto the ver-
tical surface using an appropriate screw. Please make sure that the

Now insert the outside sensor absolutely vertically into the fixture all
the way to the stop.
If the outside sensor must be removed, e.g. for the purpose of
replacement of batteries, pull it simply out of the fixture.

4.3 Range / Interference

The unobstructed communication range, i.e. direct eye contact
between the transmitter and receiver, is under optimal conditions
approx. 85 m. Walls and even reinforced concrete construction can
be permeated reducing, however, the range accordingly.
Reduction of the range can be caused by:
• High-frequency interference of any kind
• Any kind of structural development or vegetation
• Vicinity of the transmitter or receiver to conductive surfaces or
objects (including human body or soil) affects radiation charac-
teristics, thus also the range.
• Broadband interference in municipal areas can reach a level
reducing the signal-to-noise ratio across the whole frequency
band, thus reducing the range.
• Devices operating on neighboring frequencies can also affect
the receiver.
• Poorly shielded PCs can radiate into the receiver and reduce the
range.
