for use in harsh environmental
conditions.
2. INSTALLATION
General
When installing and operating
explosion-protected electrical
equipment,requirements
selection, installation and operation
should be referred to eg. IEE Wiring
Regulations and the 'National
Electrical Code' in North America.
Additional national and/or local
requirements may apply.
Ensure that all nuts, bolts and
fixings are secure.
Ensure that only the correct certified
blanking plugs are used to blank
off unused gland entry points
and that the IP rating of the unit is
maintained.
The DB10 is mounted via 2 off
Ø7mm (Ø0.28") fixing holes in
the 'U' shaped stirrup/mounting
bracket. If required, the unit can
be initially placed via the Ø13mm
(Ø0.51") central hole in the
stirrup. The unit can be rotated to
the required position and fixed via
the two other holes.
The fixing holes have been
designed to accept an M6 screw
or bolt. MEDC recommend the use
of stainless steel screws.
The elevation of the unit can be
adjusted by loosening the 2 off
M6 screws which fasten the stirrup
to the horn. The unit can then be
adjusted by rotating to the required
position and then tightening the M6
screws.
The DB10 should be positioned such
that debris, dust or water cannot
settle in the re-entrant horn.

power to the unit is isolated.

des bouchons adaptees à la
certification de l'appareil.
Le DB10 se fixe au moyen des deux
trous de 7 mm prévus à cet effet sur
le support. Si nécessaire, le haut-
parleur peut être installé en utilisant
uniquement le trou central de 13
mm de diamètre. Le haut-parleur
peut ainsi être orienté suivant les
besoins puis fixé en position au
moyen des deux autres trous.
Les trous de fixation ont été conçus
pour accepter une vis ou un boulon
M6. MEDC recommande l'utili-
sation de vis en acier inoxydable.
L'orientation du haut-parleur peut
être modifiée en desserrant les deux
vis M6 tout en maintenant l'étrier
sur le pavillon. Faire tourner le haut-
parleur jusqu'à la position requise
puis resserrer les deux vis M6.
Le DB10 doit être placé de façon
que les débris, la poussière ou
l'eau ne puissent pénétrer dans
le pavillon.

2. INSTALLATION
Allgemeines
Bei der Installation und beim Betrieb
explosionsgeschützter Anlagen sind
die Anforderungen an Auswahl,
Installation und Betrieb z.B. in
folgenden Texten nachzulesen:
"Installationsvorschriften
Vereinigung der Elektroingenieure
(IEE)" in Großbritannien und
"NEC-Vorschrift" in Nordamerika.
Zusätzlich sind nationale und/
oder regionale Anforderungen zu
beachten.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle
Muttern, Schrauben und Befesti-
gungselemente festsitzen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass zum
Verschliessen unbenutzter Kabel-
eingänge nur Blindstopfen mit der
richtigen Zertifizierung verwendet
werden, damit die IP-Schutzklasse
des Geräts erhalten bleibt.
Der DB10 wird mit Hilfe zweier
Befestigungsbohrungen (Ø7mm) im
Befestigungsbügel/Halter befestigt.
Bei Bedarf kann das Gerät zu
Beginn mit Hilfe der Ø13mm
Bohrung im Befestigungsbügel
positioniert werden.
Das Gerät kann in die gewünschte
Position gedreht und mit Hilfe
der beiden anderen Bohrungen
befestigt werden.
Die Befestigungsbohrungen wurden
für M6 Schrauben konstruiert.
MEDC empfiehlt die Verwendung
von Edelstahlschrauben.
Die Neigung des Geräts kann
eingestellt werden, wenn die beiden
M6 Schrauben gelöst werden, mit
denen der Befestigungsbügel am
Lautsprecher befestigt ist.
Dann kann das Gerät durch Drehen
in die gewünschte Position gebracht
und die M6 Schrauben angezogen
werden.
Der DB10 ist so zu positionieren,
dass sich Schmutz, Staub oder
