Safety instructions

The load cells can be used as machine components (e.g. with container
weighing). Please note in these cases that, in order to provide a high sensitiv-
ity, the transducer is not designed with a safety factor which is normally ap-
plied in machine design. In cases where a breakage would cause injury to
persons or damage to equipment, the user must take appropriate safety mea-
sures (such as fall protection, overload protection, etc.). For safe and trouble−
free operation, load cells must not only be correctly transported, stored, sited
and installed but must also be carefully operated and maintained.
In particular please take account of the following details given in the "Specifi-
cations":
• Safe load limits,
• Lateral load limits,
• Breaking loads and
• Permissible dynamic loads.
The electronic system processing the measurement signal should be desi-
gned such that no consequential damage occurs as the result of failure of the
measurement signal.
Use in accordance with the regulations
C2 load cells are conceived for weighing applications. Use for any additional
purpose shall be deemed to be not in accordance with the regulations.
In the interests of safety, the load cells should only be operated as described
in the Mounting Instructions. It is also essential to observe the appropriate
legal and safety regulations for the application concerned during use. The
same applies to the use of accessories.
The load cells are not safety elements within the meaning of its use as
intended. Proper and safe operation of this transducer requires proper
transportation, correct storage, assembly and mounting and careful operation
and maintenance.
