11. Basic Functions of the Mobile Unit

If you operate the outdoor unit and the mobile unit next to each other for test purposes, observe
that there may be a loud feedback loop via the microphone and speaker.
This is normal.
Just keep a distance of several metres between the outdoor unit and the mobile unit to avoid
such feedback loops while testing. Alternatively, you can temporarily tape several pieces of iso-
lation tape onto the microphone openings.
Before you take the mobile unit into operation, charge the rechargeable batteries for 15 hours as
described in chapter 8. c).

a) Switching the Module Unit On/Off

When the mobile unit is off and you put it in the basis station, it will switch itself on automatically. Then it
is in standby mode.
To manually switch the mobile unit on or off, proceed as follows:
• To activate the mobile unit, keep the button „
activated.
After activation, the mobile unit will scan for the basis station and a corresponding message is displayed.
The signal strength symbol flashes.
When the rechargeable batteries are entirely flat, it will take a few seconds before the display
is activated; it also will only show information about charging of the rechargeable batteries; see
chapter 8. c).
When the mobile unit has found the basis station, the symbol for signal strength will stop flashing. The
display of the mobile unit now shows the name of the mobile unit and the date, time and symbol for the
rechargeable battery condition. Then the mobile unit is in standby mode.
If the basis station is not found, it is either not connected to the operating voltage, or the mobile
unit is not within range of the basis station.
• To deactivate the mobile unit, keep the button „
