Keep sufficient distance from the

n these operating instructions we have marked the places
that have to do with your safety with this sign: 
 Safety notes
• Please pass on safety notes and instructions to all those
who work on the machine.
• The machine must only be used in technically perfect
condition in accordance with its designated use and the
instructions set out in the operating manual, and only
by safety-conscious persons who are fully aware of the
risks involved in operating the machine. Any functional
disorders, especially those affecting the safety of the
machine, should therefore be rectified immediately.
• Only tools which correspond to the European norm, EN
847-1, may be used.
• Observe all safety instructions and warnings attached to
the machine.
• See to it that safety instructions and warnings attached
to the machine are always complete and perfectly leg-
ible.
• Check all power supply lines. Do not use defective
lines.
• Keep children away from the machine when it is con-
nected to the power supply.
• Operating personal must be at least 18 years of age.
Trainees must be at least 16 years of age, but may only
operate the machine under adult supervision .
• Persons working on the machine may not be diverted
from their work.
• The working space on the machine must be free of chips
and wood scrap.
• Wear only close-fitting clothes. Remove rings, bracelets
and other jewelry.
• Pay attention to the rotational direction of the motor –
see Electrical Connection.
• The safety mechanisms on the machine may not be re-
moved or rendered unusable.
• Cleaning, changing, calibrating, and setting of the
machine may only be carried out when the motor is
switched off. Pull the power supply plug and wait for
the rotating tool to completely stop.
• Switch the machine off and pull power supply plug
when rectifying any malfunctions.
• When working on the machine, all safety mechanisms
and covers must be mounted.
• Use only sharpened, nick-free and non-deformed saw
blades.
• Stop the machine to repair a failure or remove pieces

of wood which have become jammed. Disconnect the
mains plug.

• Switch the machine off and pull power supply plug

when rectifying any malfunctions.
• If the sawing gap is worn out replace the rocker inlet.
Disconnect the mains plug!
• When leaving the work place, switch the motor off. Pull

• Cut off the external power supply of the machine or

plant even if only minor changes of place are envisaged.
Properly reconnect the machine to the supply mains be-
fore recommissioning.
• Connection and repair work on the electrical installation
may be carried out by a qualified electrician only.
• All protection and safety devices must be replaced after
completing repair and maintenance procedures.
• Never expose power tools to rain.
• Do not use power tools in damp or wet conditions.
• Ensure sufficient illumination of the working area.
• Do not use power tools in zones where a risk of fire or
explosion exists.
• Avoid touching earthed parts (e.g. pipes, radiators,
electric cooker, cooling devices).
• Unused power tools should be stored in a dry location,
elevated or locked away in order to keep them out of
the reach of children.
• Do not pull the cable to remove the plug from the mains
socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edg-
es.
• Keep the handlebars dry, clean and free from oil and
grease.
• Ensure that the switch is turned off when connecting
the plug to the mains socket.
• If working outdoors only use appropriate marked and
approved extension cords.
• Do not use power tools with a defective switch that
cannot be turned on and off.
• Only use saw blades where their maximum permissible
speed is higher than the maximum permissible speed
of the spindle of the firewood chop saw, and which are
suitable for the material to be cut.
Accessories
Only purchase accessories from your authorised special-
ised dealer.
The machine corresponds to the valid EC guideline.
• The firewood chop saw is constructed as 1-man-operat-
ing stand and is only to be used in outdoor locations.
• The firewood chop saw is a portable circular saw. It is
only applicable to cross cut firewood with a feeding
rocker according to the technical specifications.
• The saw is constructed solely for cross cutting of fire-
wood.
• Regardless of the diameter of the wood only 1 work
piece is to be put on the rocker.
• Observe all safety and hazard notes on the machine and
ensure they are kept complete and in a legible condi-
tion.
• The machining range and surrounding areas of the ma-
chine must be clear of interfering foreign matter to
prevent accidents occurring.
• Workpieces must be completely free of foreign objects,
i.e. nails or screws.
• The circular sawbench is designed exclusively for the
machining of wood and materials similar to wood. Only
