D. PUTTING THE HELMET ON AND
TAKING IT OFF
2. TAKING OFF THE HELMET
1. Open the chin guard and lock in position. Ensure that the sun visor
inside the shell is lowered.
2. Open the chin strap by pulling up the red strip of the ratcheting lock to
release the locking mechanism. Then pull the ratcheting tongue out of
the locking mechanism.
3. Take hold of the ends of the chin strap and pull them apart.
4. You can now easily pull the helmet from your head.
5. Close the chin guard.
Tip:
To prevent scratches to objects on which the helmet may be placed, we
recommend that you close the chin strap after taking the helmet off.

E. BEFORE EVERY JOURNEY
For your own safety, check the following points every time before you ride:

1. INSPECTING THE HELMET

Regularly inspect your helmet for damage. Small scratches on the surface do
not affect the protective function of your helmet. Do not use the helmet if it
is seriously damaged (cracks, slight dents, flaking and cracked varnish, etc.).
Caution:
If you have lost a significant amount of body weight, you should
check that your helmet is still the correct size for you.

2. INSPECTING THE CHIN-STRAP

(WITH HELMET ON AND FASTENED)
1. Check that the chinstrap passes under your chin.
2. Pull the strap downwards with your index finger.
If the chinstrap is loose under the chin, it is too long and needs to
be tightened.
If the chin strap yields or comes loose, it has not been properly
fastened. Undo the chin strap completely and then fasten it again.
Now repeat the test.
3. If the chin strap cannot be tightened sufficiently to rest firmly under
your chin, you should check whether the helmet is still the right size
for you.
Caution:
After making any correction, repeat the test.
Warning:
Never ride without a fastened and correctly adjusted chin strap.
The strap must sit correctly and must not give or be slack when pulled.
The lock is only properly engaged when the chin strap has no slack.
