ATTENTION
Risk of damage!
Operating the engine without a filter element or with a
damaged filter element can cause engine damage.
– Never run the engine without the air filter element or
with a damaged filter element. This would allow dirt
into the engine, which would result in severe dam-
age to the engine.
ATTENTION
Fouled air filters diminish the engine output
due to reduced air supply to the carburettor.
Regular inspection is therefore essential.
Note:
The air filter should be checked every 25 operating hours
and cleaned as required. The air filter must be checked
more often in case of very dusty air.
1. Remove the screw (7a) and remove the air filter cover
(7).
2. Check the air filter cover (7) for holes or cracks. Re-
place any damaged insert.
3. Take the air filter (7b) out.
4. Wipe off dirt on the inside of the filter housing with a
clean moist cloth. Make sure that no direct enters the
opening. Set the air filter cover (7) on the filter housing
for the duration of the filter cleaning process.
5. Check the air filter (7b) for damage and replace it if
necessary.
6. Knock the air filter (7b) against a hard surface to re-
move the dirt. Never try to brush the dirt out as this
will press it into the fibres.
7. If necessary, clean the air filter (7b) additionally in
warm water and mild soap solution. Rinse it thorough-
ly with clean water and let it dry well.
8. Reinsert the clean air filter (7b).
9. Put on the air filter cover (7) and secure it with the
screw (7a).
