• Plug the other end of the mains part into a suitable socket. Fully charge the battery prior to initial use
(approx. 2 hours). During charging, the "CHG" display on the brightlight lights up green. When the battery
is fully charged, the "CHG" display goes out.
• If you would like to use the brightlight after charging, first of all disconnect the mains part from the so-
cket, and then from the brightlight.
• With the battery completely charged, you can operate the brightlight for over 2 x 30 minutes.
Note:
• Ensure that there is a mains socket close to the set-up area.
• Arrange the mains cable so that no-one will trip over it.

Remove the stand from the storage slot on the rear of the device.

Clip the short end of the stand into the side. The orientation of the TL55 changes depending on where
you attach the stand to the device. The stand can be attached on both the long and short sides, which
enables you to use the TL55 both horizontally and vertically.

Switching on the lamp
 To switch on the red light (light to fall asleep), press the ON/OFF button once.
 Press the ON/OFF button twice to switch on the brightlight.
Note:
The brightlight has an automatic switch-off function. The brightlight/red light switches off auto-
matically after 30 minutes. During the 30 minutes, the red light automatically dims. In contrast, the
brightlight illuminates to the same level of brightness for the 30 minutes.

Enjoying daylight
Position yourself as close as possible to the light, at a distance of between 10 and 30 cm. You can
continue to go about your day-to-day activities during application, including reading, writing, making
telephone calls, etc.
• Keep looking directly into the light for a short period of time as it is absorbed and shows an effect via
the eyes/retina. Do not look directly into the light continuously as this may cause over-stimulation of
the retina.
• Use the brightlight as often as you like. However, the treatment is at its most effective if you carry out
the light therapy according to the prescribed time period of at least 7 successive days.
• The most effective time of day for the treatment is in the morning and we recommend that it is used
for 2 hours per day.
• Start with a brief application period and gradually increase the time over the course of a week.
In principle,
the closer you are to the light source, the shorter the application time.
Note:
You may experience pain in the eyes and head after the first few applications. This pain should disappear
in further sessions as the nervous system becomes accustomed to the new stimuli.
Enjoying the red light
Place the lamp at a distance of between 30 and 50 cm to where you sleep. Try to relax and drift off
during usage.
• The most effective time of day for treatment is in the evening before going to bed.
• Treatment with the red light is most effective if you carry it out at least 7 days in a row.
• Keep looking directly into the red light for a short period of time as it is absorbed and shows an effect
via the eyes/retina. Do not look directly into the red light continuously as this may cause over-stimula-
tion of the retina.
 Press the ON/OFF button once. The red light and the LED display (10 , 20 , 30 min) begin to light up.
The LED display shows you how long the red light will still illuminate for. The red light has 3 brightness
levels and becomes weaker in 10-minute cycles. The red light automatically goes out after 30 minutes.
Alternatively, you can switch off the red light at any time by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button.
